ZCSIF Equips CIDRZ Social Science Research Group with Responsible AI Skills for Research Excellence
The Zambia Cyber Security Initiative Foundation (ZCSIF) recently facilitated a transferable skills session for the Social Science Research Group Department at the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) as part of the department's bi weekly seminar series. The session focused on empowering researchers to strategically integrate Artificial Intelligence, or AI, into their research while promoting its responsible, ethical, and effective use.
The session was delivered by ZCSIF Founding President, Mr. John Tshinseki, through a presentation titled Responsible AI for Research Excellence and Organizational Efficiency. Participants explored practical applications of AI across the research lifecycle, including literature reviews, data analysis, academic writing support, research planning, knowledge management, and productivity enhancement. The session also emphasized the importance of responsible AI governance, research integrity, data privacy, transparency, and ethical decision making when adopting AI in research environments.
The seminar concluded with an interactive hands on practical session, where participants applied AI tools to real research tasks and explored ways to improve research workflows while maintaining rigorous academic and ethical standards.
