ECR Today Staff Spotlight: Partson Mudenda

Commitment. Loyalty. Hard Work. Resilience.

At Expanded Church Response (ECR), we celebrate individuals whose dedication transforms communities. Today, we shine the spotlight on Partson Mudenda, a man whose unwavering commitment to the Families Matter! Program (FMP) has left an indelible mark on countless lives.

“A Decade of Growth and Laughter”

For over a decade, Partson has been more than a facilitator, trainer, and coordinator—he has been a pillar of strength, wisdom, and inspiration. His journey with FMP began in 2009, eager to shape the future of family-based interventions. From the very first pilot tests, he embraced the challenge, contributing recommendations, designing impactful posters, and crafting proverbs that still echo in the program’s teachings today.

In 2016, he officially joined ECR as an FMP Facilitator, where his passion for strengthening families flourished. His commitment and expertise saw him rise to the role of Trainer of Trainers, equipping facilitators to become champions of change in their communities.

In 2017, Partson took on the role of Project Coordinator for Ndola District, leading program implementation and strengthening partnerships at the district level. A year later, in 2018, he was transferred to Livingstone, where he continued his mission, ensuring that families received the support and guidance they needed to thrive.

Today, Partson serves as Project Coordinator in Monze, leading with the same passion, resilience, and unwavering dedication. His story is a testament to what it means to serve with heart and purpose—to work not just for today, but for the lasting transformation of families, one community at a time.

ECR is proud to celebrate Partson Mudenda—a true champion of change.

✨ Celebrating the A-Team: The Women Behind ECR’s Impact ✨

Today, as the world honors International Women’s Day, we take a moment to recognize three phenomenal women we can proudly call the A-Team—a trio of Achievers, Advocates, Architects of Change, Ambassadors of Hope, and Absolute Trailblazers.

They are the heart and soul behind the programming at Expanded Church Response (ECR)—the minds that strategize, the hands that build, and the voices that champion transformation. For over eight years, they have poured their intelligence, passion, and relentless energy into work that saves lives, educates minds, and uplifts communities.

Through them, we have witnessed:
✨ Girls and young women empowered with life skills, boldly escaping r**e and abuse.
✨ Thousands living longer, healthier lives because they are now consistently on treatment.
✨ Families breaking cycles of poverty—thriving through savings groups, building homes, and launching businesses.
✨ Men stepping up as active parents, reshaping the future of their children.
✨ Boys receiving mentorship and guidance, growing into responsible young men who respect and protect their communities.

ECR Spotlight: Emmanuel Kanyesha – A Champion for Evidence-Driven Change

Today, we celebrate Emmanuel Kanyesha, a dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer who has been a pillar of strength in ECR for the past five years. With a heart for service and an unwavering commitment to impact-driven work, Emmanuel has traveled long distances—especially to rural communities—to ensure that beneficiaries and local organizations receive the support they need.

As an M&E Officer under the ADVANCE and CHAZ projects, Emmanuel plays a critical role in tracking and measuring the effectiveness of programs focused on adolescent health, GBV prevention, HIV prevention, family and parenting interventions, immunization, and safe house support. His work ensures that ECR collects accurate data, analyzes key insights, and continuously improves its interventions.

Emmanuel’s motivation comes from his passion for evidence-driven change, knowing that every data point represents a life, a story, and an opportunity for transformation. His work is not just about numbers—it’s about ensuring that vulnerable populations, especially adolescents and survivors of abuse, receive the support they deserve.

HE embodies Excellence, Accountability, Integrity, and Compassion, values that guide him in maintaining ethical reporting, ensuring program effectiveness, and upholding the dignity of the communities ECR serves. Over the years, he has developed strong facilitation skills, engaging diverse groups, including church leaders, traditional authorities, community members, and young people, making him an invaluable asset to the organization.

His message to others? “Passion matters more than the pay because with passion, you give your all despite the challenges.”

A lover of family time and guided by Isaiah 55:11, Emmanuel believes in purposeful work that brings lasting impact. We celebrate his dedication, resilience, and the life-changing work he continues to do at ECR!

🌍 Braving the Rains, Crossing the Toughest Terrains—All for the Next Generation!

Meet Xavier Dambula and Joanna Mungaila, dedicated Families Matter! Program (FMP) facilitators. In these photos, working in Chitongo Community, Mazabuka, they aren’t just walking through difficult landscapes—they are carrying hope, protection, and life-saving knowledge to families in need. Soaked, tired, but never discouraged, they push forward because every child, especially every girl, deserves a future free from HIV and gender-based violence (GBV).

Through the PEPFAR/CDC-supported Families Matter! Program (FMP), ECR has trained nearly 200,000 parents in life-changing parent-child communication skills for HIV and GBV prevention, care, and treatment. But none of this would be possible without the unshakable commitment of facilitators like Xavier and Joanna, who brave long distances, harsh weather, and difficult terrain to ensure no family is left behind.

We need more champions like them! 💙 With more support, we can reach more families, protect more children, and transform more lives in communities like Chitongo and beyond. Join us in making a difference—your support can take this impact even further!
