Continuing the Journey – Transforming Lives

From its humble beginnings, The Other Side Foundation School has continued to empower underprivileged children by providing free primary education and creating pathways for a brighter future.

Over the years, the school has supported learners through bursary sponsorships into government schools, as well as universities and colleges, ensuring that education does not end at primary level but continues to open doors for lifelong success.

Beyond academics, the school provides a holistic support system that nurtures every child. This includes feeding programs, medical care, yoga lessons, sports, recreation, scouting, and various clubs designed to build confidence, discipline, and life skills.

In addition, the school empowers families through seed funding initiatives, helping support small income-generating activities and improving household livelihoods.

The impact extends beyond the classroom. Through community outreach programs, and in partnership with generous supporters, the school regularly distributes food hampers and cooking oil to single mothers, grandparents, and some of the most vulnerable families in the community.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our sponsors and partners whose continued support makes this work possible. Your generosity and commitment have played a vital role in transforming lives and building a brighter future for our learners.

While many programs cannot all be mentioned, one thing remains clear — the mission is ongoing, and the impact continues to grow.

From a small beginning in 2006 to a life-changing institution today, The Other Side Foundation School stands as a symbol of hope, compassion, and transformation.

THE OTHER SIDE FOUNDATION SCHOOL – OUR HISTORY (PART 4)

2011 – Mobilizing the Community

In 2011, The Other Side Foundation School took an important step towards strengthening its impact by actively involving the community.

Guided by a strong belief in building lasting and meaningful partnerships, the school established the Parent School Committee (PSC). This platform was created to gather feedback and encourage community participation in key areas such as environmental management and food preparation for the feeding program.

By working closely with parents and guardians, the school was able to keep its ears on the ground, gaining a deeper understanding of the children’s needs, their aspirations, and the challenges faced by their families.

This collaboration made it possible to design and implement more effective support systems, helping learners not only in the classroom, but also in their daily lives.

It is truly encouraging to see that, even today, PSC meetings continue to record high attendance, showing the community’s strong commitment to the school and its mission.

From humble beginnings to a united community effort, the journey continues…
