UNAIDS Zambia is supporting the institutionalization of NASA Basic in Zambia alongside the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, National AIDS Council, ZAMMSA and WHO from 18th-22nd May, 2026.

Zambia plans to begin routine HIV financing data collection in 2027 with continued technical support from UNAIDS.

UNAIDS Zambia and CSOs had a Residential Consultative Meeting on the Global Fund Cycle 8 (GC8) Funding Priorities for Communities and Civil Society Most Affected by HIV.

The meeting brought together community representatives and stakeholders to strengthen community-led HIV prevention and systems responses in Zambia, ensuring that lived experiences and community priorities are reflected in the GC8 process.

On the final day, participants also joined the global Thursdays in Black movement by wearing black in solidarity against gender-based violence, abuse, stigma, discrimination and all forms of violence affecting communities.
