✨Happy International Women's Day✨

There is a kind of strength the world does not always see.

It looks like a mother sleeping in a hospital chair night after night.
It looks like holding a tiny hand through treatments and whispering words of hope when fear is knocking at the door.
It looks like wiping tears, saying prayers, and choosing courage again the next morning.

At Kayula Childhood Cancer Foundation, we witness this strength every single day.

We see it in the mothers who refuse to give up on their children.
We see it in the nurses and doctors who care deeply for every little fighter.
We see it in the women who volunteer their time, their hearts, and their voices so that no child faces cancer alone.

Your strength is extraordinary.
Your love is unstoppable.
Your impact is immeasurable.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who carry hope in the hardest moments and continue fighting for the lives and futures of their children.

Your strength inspires us.
Your love changes lives.

Happy International Women’s Day. 🌸

A mother’s bravery in a child’s cancer journey is a quiet, relentless kind of strength — the kind that carries the heaviest weight with grace.

It is waking up every morning and choosing hope, even when fear tries to take over.
It is learning medical terms she never imagined she would need to understand.
It is holding her child’s hand through painful treatments while swallowing her own tears.
It is finding the courage to smile in hospital corridors so her child sees strength instead of uncertainty.

Twelve years ago, Ms. Janet Nsamvu walked this journey when her daughter, Chileshe Mutale, was diagnosed with Nephroblastoma (Wilms tumor) at just 4 years old.
Today, Chileshe has been cancer-free for 8 years. Not only is she thriving, but she has also become an active voice in childhood cancer advocacy — turning her pain into purpose and her survival into strength for others.

Their story is a reminder that early diagnosis, access to treatment, and unwavering family support can change outcomes.

We stand with every mother and caregiver walking this journey right now.
Your strength matters. Your love makes a difference. And you are not alone. đź’›

Every child facing cancer is a brave soul, shining brighter with hope and resilience.

✨ Meet the Hearts Behind Our Transit Home ✨

At Kayula Childhood Cancer Foundation, our transit home is more than just a place to stay — it is truly a home away from home for our brave little warriors and their guardians as they go through treatment.

And at the heart of this home are three incredible women: Mrs Chali Maninga, Mrs Olipa Phiri and Ms Christine Kaswende đź’›

Every single day, they pour love, care, patience and compassion into making sure that every child and every guardian feels safe, welcomed and supported. From ensuring the home is clean and comfortable, to offering a listening ear, a warm meal, or a gentle word of encouragement — they do it all with so much grace and dedication.

They may not wear capes, but they are our everyday heroes.

Thank you ladies for being the hands and hearts that make our transit home a place of comfort, dignity and hope. đź’›

What Is Childhood Cancer?

Childhood cancer refers to different types of cancers that affect children, from infancy through adolescence.
While rare, it is life-changing — not just for the child, but for the entire family.

Awareness helps with early detection, proper support, and better outcomes. This is why we speak about it. This is why we care. đź’›
