JCI participated in the two days youth Connekt summit that took place on 29 and 30th of October 2026 under the theme: green Hustle, Cultivating wealth, creating Jobs.

This summit was graced by the vice president of the republic of Zambia, and the message was clear,The future is green,

The Vice President, Her Honour Dr. W.K. Mutale Nalumango,in Her message to Zambian youths, she was very much clear:

Zambia must move from farming to agribusiness, from raw commodities to finished products, and our young people must lead that change.

Instead of only looking for jobs, youths were urged to create jobs through innovation in:

- Agribusiness & food processing
- Solar irrigation & renewable energy
- Waste recycling & water harvesting
- Transport, logistics & packaging
- Digital services & climate-smart agriculture

She reaffirmed that Government will continue to support youths with skills training, access to finance, land, technology, mentorship and markets through Youth Resource Centres now being transformed into innovation hubs.

The future is green, and the hustle is real. 💚🇿🇲

A MOMENT OF UNITY, LEGACY AND CONTINUED SUPPORT

Although this was not an official visit to JCI Zambia, it was a valuable opportunity for the JCI Zambia National President Sydney S Ng'andu to meet and engage with the 2010 JCI World President , President Roland Kwemain from Cameroon.
The conversation carried a powerful message of continued unity, solidarity and support, a reminder that the JCI family extends far beyond official programmes, positions and terms of office.
The continued commitment that Jaycees demonstrate towards one another across generations is a reflection of the strength of our movement. Leadership may change, but the bonds of friendship, service and shared purpose remain.
As JCI Zambia, we value these connections and remain committed to strengthening the spirit of collaboration and unity that continues to define the Jaycee movement.

Happy International Human Duties Day!

Today, JCI Zambia proudly joins the global community in commemorating International Human Duties Day under the inspiring theme: Leading Responsibly.

Leadership, as this theme reminds us, is not merely a title or position—it is a solemn duty. True leadership begins with responsibility: responsibility to people, to institutions, and to the future we are building together. To lead responsibly is to embrace values that strengthen communities and restore trust.

To lead responsibly means:
Accountability – Owning decisions and their impact, and standing firm in both success and failure.

-Service – Placing collective well-being above personal gain, ensuring that leadership uplifts rather than exploits.

-Integrity – Doing what is right, even when no one is watching, because trust is built on consistency of character.

-Inclusion – Ensuring every voice has a seat at the table, and that diversity is celebrated as strength.

Rights tell us what we can claim. Duties remind us of what we must do. When leaders honor their duties, communities flourish, institutions grow stronger, and trust is renewed.

This International Human Duties Day, let us commit ourselves to a higher standard of leadership:

Today, as we continue commemorating Human Duty Week, we reflect on one of our greatest responsibilities Sustaining the Future.

The future is not something we inherit by chance; it is something we build through the choices we make today. Every action to protect our environment, promote sustainable development, invest in education, strengthen our communities and empower young people is an investment in generations to come.

As National President of JCI Zambia, I call upon every member to embrace sustainable leadership by taking meaningful actions that leave a positive and lasting impact. Whether through environmental stewardship, community service, ethical leadership or innovation, each of us has a duty to create a better tomorrow.

Together, let us demonstrate that true leadership is measured not only by what we achieve today, but by the legacy we leave for future generations.

Serve the Future
International Human Duties week day 3.

Rights secure our present. Duties secure our future.

“Secure the Future” is a rallying cry to acknowledge that the world we inherit is shaped by the responsibilities we uphold today. Sustainability encompasses not only the environment, but also social justice, ethics, and civic duty.

It entails fulfilling our obligations with integrity:
1. Towards people by acting with fairness, empathy, and respect in every interaction
2. Towards institutions by upholding the rule of law and participating responsibly
3. Towards the planet by making choices today that preserve resources for future generations

A future worth sustaining is built when individuals transcend their entitlements and embrace their responsibilities.

On this International Human Duties week, let us recommit to service, stewardship, and duty. The future does not sustain itself — we do.
