A historic step forward for inclusion and human rights in Zambia 🇿🇲
On 17th April 2026, the Government of Zambia officially launched the National Action Plan for the Protection of Persons with Albinism—marking a major milestone in advancing safety, dignity, and equal opportunities for persons with albinism across the country.
This achievement builds on the momentum of the Private Member’s Motion passed in Parliament on 10th December 2025, reflecting growing national commitment to addressing the challenges faced by persons with albinism.
The development of this Action Plan has been made possible through collaborative efforts, with support from Cheshire Homes Society of Zambia and the Africa Albinism Network, with funding from Liliane Fonds.
This is more than a policy—it is a promise. A promise to strengthen protection, promote inclusion, and ensure that no one is left behind.
Now, the focus shifts to implementation. Together, we can turn this commitment into real change in communities across Zambia.
