The Zambian National STEM Foundation in collaboration with the Smart Zambia Institute, On Friday, 20th February, 2026, continued the STEM Awareness Campaign at Munali Boys’ Secondary School, Lusaka.
The meeting was officially opened by the foundation’s Executive Director, Mr. Michelo Moonga, who emphasized the urgent need to equip learners with relevant digital and STEM competencies that will prepare them for emerging opportunities in a rapidly evolving global economy. He encouraged students to take advantage of platforms and partnerships that provide practical, future-focused skills.
Representing Smart Zambia Institute, Assistant Director, Government Service, Mr. Brian Nawa, delivered an insightful presentation in recognition of Safer Internet Day, a globally celebrated initiative that promotes the safe, responsible, and ethical use of digital technologies. He further highlighted free learning opportunities available to learners, particularly in Cybersecurity and Introduction to Data Science, encouraging students to proactively position themselves within high-demand digital fields.
Mr. Inambao from Smart Zambia Institute also provided practical guidance on safe browsing practices, equipping students with tools to navigate the digital space responsibly, protect their personal information, and build positive digital footprints.
The engagement was further enriched by the presence of Daniel Lyapa, popularly known as K-Star, whose energy and inspiration resonated strongly with the learners, setting a vibrant tone for the session and reinforcing the message that young people can confidently pursue excellence both in technology and in their individual talents.
The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of ZNSF and Smart Zambia Institute to building digitally aware, skilled, and responsible future leaders.
