Today, as we commemorate the International Day of Child Helplines, Lifeline/Childline Zambia visited rural communities to engage with parents through meaningful dialogues and conversations.

The interactions created a platform for parents to share personal experiences and reflect on what child helplines mean for them and their children at an individual and community level. These discussions highlighted the importance of accessible support systems in protecting, guiding, and empowering children and families.

📍 Lifeline Childline Zambia was honored to take part in the official launch of the Mwana Ni Muntu Campaign, the Social and Behaviour Change Plan for the Protection and Welfare of Children, and the Care Reform documents hosted by the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services in Lusaka.

At the event, we proudly showcased our work in child protection, psychosocial support, and safeguarding services, while emphasizing the importance of our toll-free helplines 116 and 933 as critical channels for children, adolescents, and communities to access help, counselling, and protection services. 📞💙

The campaign’s focus on ending child marriage, preventing violence against children, promoting positive parenting, and empowering adolescents strongly aligns with our mission to ensure every child is safe, heard, and protected.

Together, we continue working towards stronger child protection systems and a safer future for every child in Zambia. ✨

Lifeline Childline Zambia proudly took part in the Southern Africa Family Placement Conference 2026 held under the theme “Empowering Governments to Reform Child Welfare.”

The conference brought together government leaders, child welfare practitioners, and partners from across Southern Africa to strengthen collaboration and advance family-based care systems for children.

As an organization dedicated to child protection and psychosocial support, Lifeline Childline Zambia was honored to contribute to important conversations on safeguarding children, strengthening families, and promoting sustainable child welfare reforms.

Lifeline/Childline Zambia was in Kalikiliki Compound, Lusaka yesterday sensitizing families on GBV, child abuse & protection, and cholera prevention. Through talks and drama, with key messages: GBV is a crime, children have a right to safety, and cholera is prevented with clean water + handwashing.

Today, our counselors took part in a capacity-building training focused on strengthening their skills to address and respond to child online abuse. 💻🛡️

This training is part of the Safe Children Online Project, implemented in partnership with BRIS: Barnens Rätt I Samhället funded by Sida - Styrelsen för Internationellt Utvecklingssamarbete working together to create safer digital spaces for children. 👧🏽👦🏽
