Community Dialogues | Kapiri Mposhi District | UCC Project*
The Women for Change [WfC] team is currently implementing activities in Kapiri Mposhi District under the United Church of Canada [UCC] Project.
WfC has conducted community meetings in Makafu, Ntasa-Chalengamina, Chitutukutu, and Mondwa-Mpika villages.
The dialogues centered on the roles and responsibilities of women and men in natural resource management and climate change response. A key emphasis was placed on equal participation and collaboration as critical factors in building sustainable and resilient communities.
In line with its mandate, WfC utilizes participatory education methodologies. This approach enables participants to engage in deeper reflection and analysis of issues affecting people in their communities.
To enhance understanding and ensure inclusive participation, the sessions are facilitated through interactive drawing and writing exercises. These tools allowed community members to visually and collectively explore challenges, share perspectives, and identify community-led solutions.
The engagements aim to strengthen community understanding that climate resilience is achieved when both women and men participate equallyin protecting and managing natural resources.
