Christopher grew up in Mumbwa, the seventh of eight children and the only one in his family with albinism, a genetic condition in which the body produces little or no melanin, the pigment that colours the skin, hair and eyes.

After two skin cancer diagnoses and years of treatment and uncertainty, Christopher offers this advice:

Yesterday, Open Window University in partnership with the Zambian Cancer Society , brought smiles, warmth and a little bit of childhood back to children at Cancer Diseases Hospital U.T.H

As we prepare for International Childhood Cancer Month this September, under the three-year theme “Equal Access to All Care for Children with Cancer,” we donated blankets, toys, books etc to help children stay warm, engaged, creative and connected to learning while undergoing treatment. 🧸🎨📚

Sometimes, a small act of kindness can make a hospital feel a little less frightening and remind a child: “You are loved. You are seen. You are not alone.” ❤️

✨ Now, we’re calling on YOU!
