**The Shadows of Ulondo**
Part 2
Thandi's mind raced as she stared at her father's frail form. Baba Sakala's words hung in the air like a death sentence for Ulondo village.
Without responding, Thandi turned to Ziyeletsa. "Brother, stay with Father. I must find Kabotolo."
Ziyeletsa nodded solemnly, eyes wide with fear. Thandi rushed out into the fading daylight, asking villagers about Kabotolo's whereabouts.
An elderly woman pointed towards the dense forest surrounding Ulondo. "Kabotolo lives on forest edges, child. But beware, darkness follows him."
Thandi's heart quickened as she ventured into the forest. Shadows deepened around her, and strange noises echoed through trees.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from darkness – Kabotolo. Scar above his left eyebrow seemed to gleam in faint moonlight.
"Thandi Sakala," Kabotolo said low and gravelly. "Baba Sakala sent you. Ulondo's curse revives. Your father's life force binds it... temporarily."
Thandi swallowed hard. "What curse? What darkness?"
Kabotolo's eyes locked onto hers. "Nightwalkers stir. Ancient evil Ulondo's ancestors trapped. Your father's fading life unlocks their prison..."
Kabotolo leaned in closer, voice barely audible.
"They hunger for Sakala blood... and you, Thandi, are the last heir."
As Kabotolo spoke, the forest around them fell silent. Thandi felt icy breath on her neck, and Kabotolo's eyes flickered towards something behind her.
Then, a low, menacing whisper seemed to caress her ear: "Thandi Sakala... we've found you."
