The Campaign towards Climate Compatible Development (CtCCD) is a research, capacity building and policy advocacy non-profit organization that discovers and promotes effective solutions to climate change. CtCCD brings together researchers, environmentalist, policy advocates, educators, natural resources managers, professionals in all fields, vulnerable community members and decision-makers to promo
te climate change awareness, and the practice of clean and sustainable development by, rigorously evaluating, and refining solutions and their applications, ensuring that the evidence created is used to improve the lives of the world’s poor. With respect to climate change mitigation and adaptation in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and health, the CtCCD is taking significant and concrete initiatives that provide multiple benefits. The CtCCD is designed specifically to address climate change mitigation adaptation and development. This means that while these activities promote mitigation strategies, they reduce existing adaptation deficits and lay a foundation for long-term resilience ,thus simultaneously enhancing sustainable development in an environmentally friendly manner. For Zambia, CtCCD strives to create a ‘triple-wins’ scenario across mitigation (reduced emissions/enhanced carbon storage), climate adaptation (improved adaptive capacity) and development (poverty alleviation)
