Living hope foundation was started by Mr Geoffrey.M.Kamufande in 1996. He began this mission after he saw sudden increase in the number of homeless & parent-less children roaming the streets of Zambia. As a retired government official & freedom fighter he did not want to see his efforts of freedom fighting go to waste. He decided to take it upon himself to save,shelter & feed the future generation
of those in the streets that had lost hope. Hence how he came up with the name 'LIVING HOPE' to give hope to those that had lost it. In 2000 he made his break through with the help of now late Mr/Mrs Fana. Whom donated their newly built facility that they mainly built for the purpose of been a mini hospital. But failed to go through with their plans & later gave it to Mr Geoffrey to shelter his adopted children. The shelter contains; 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 6 classrooms & 2 offices.The foundation provides free education from grade 1-9, grow their own food from time to time by farming crops such as maize,beans and egg plants. whats sad is the lack of governmental support but thanks to the support of NGO's & individuals the foundation has been able to pull through. In 2016 Mr Geoffrey joined hands with the young helping hands of Vincent Michelo in charge of the (marketing aspect ), Fanwell zulu in charge of (the video media & galleys design) & Mark Mbawe ( in-charge advertising & interviews )to push forward the cause.
