The Centre for Innovating Development (CIDE) had the pleasure of visiting Nyumbayanga Secondary School, where we successfully donated three waste bins to support the schoolโs waste management efforts.
It was an inspiring and impactful day as our team engaged with over 200 students in an interactive sensitization session on proper waste management and its direct link to climate change. Together, we explored how improper waste disposal contributes to environmental degradation and how simple, consistent actions can drive meaningful climate solutions.
We were warmly welcomed by the Head Teacher, who was on hand to receive the donation on behalf of the school. In his remarks, he expressed sincere appreciation for the initiative and reaffirmed the schoolโs commitment to promoting proper waste management practices. He emphasized the importance of instilling such habits in young people from an early age, noting that sustainable change begins with education and awareness.
We were equally encouraged by the enthusiasm of the pupils, especially members of the Game Changers Club, who are already taking active steps to promote environmental stewardship within their school. We urged all the students to continue leading by exampleโby practicing responsible waste management both at school and at home.
Together, we can build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. ๐
