Southern Africa Cross Border Traders Association (SACBTA) participated in the Investment Climate Reforms for Women's Economic Empowerment conference from 5th to 6th June 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda organized the Investment Climate Reform (ICR) Facility.

The ICR Facility is cofunded by the European Union, the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the British Council. The ICR Facility is implemented by GIZ, British Council, Expertise France and SNV.

The ICR Facility supports public and private stakeholders in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries in creating a more conducive, sustainable and inclusive business environment and investment climate.

🚀👩 The Investment Climate Reform Facility (ICR) is co-funded by the , OACPS Secretariat - Secrétariat OEACP, Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) (BMZ) and British Council and implemented by Expertise France in partership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, British Council and SNV. It aims to enable a more conducive business environment for women, facilitate dialogue, collaboration, and action to address the challenges faced by women in the private sector.

The benefits of AfCFTA for cross border traders.

The 2024 Trade Law Centre TRALAC Alumni and Annual conferences were held in Lusaka, Zambia from 14th to 17th May 2024. SACBTA regional office made presentations around how the AfCFTA can foster economic empowerment of informal cross border traders, the majority of whom are women, through the Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade.
