With Support from The Egmont Trust , had a Previlage to conduct community awareness sessions for Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM) to address barriers affecting HIV prevention, testing, and treatment outcomes. The sessions highlighted deep but often overlooked mental health challenges, including emotional distress, stigma, and pressure from harmful masculinity norms. By providing safe spaces for expression and support, the intervention improved mental wellbeing, encouraged positive health-seeking behavior, and strengthened engagement in HIV services.

had the honor of meeting with frontline health workers at , dedicated individuals who continue to drive the success of the Peer AGYW Project.
During the meeting, the team presented key achievements, shared valuable lessons, and openly discussed the challenges faced throughout implementation. Beyond the data and reports, what stood out most was the commitment and resilience of these health workers.
Investing in frontline health workers is investing in stronger, healthier futures for AGYW and communities at large.

Through the SHARPS Project, lives are quietly changing where it matters most. By connecting health facilities through Peer exchange learning visits, we are not just sharing knowledge, we are restoring hope for pregnant adolescents and Breastfeeding young moms who often feel unseen and unheard. Peer learning is turning challenges into real solutions, helping health workers deliver care that is more respectful, safe, and responsive. Behind every improvement is a young person who now feels valued.

KCIA recently undertook a two-day peer learning visit to Associação Meninos de Moçambique in Maputo, Mozambique. The visit aimed to strengthen KCIA’s capacity to design and implement holistic, gender-responsive interventions targeting children, particularly boys and young men.
The exchange provided an opportunity to observe AMM’s operational systems, stakeholder engagement strategies, child protection mechanisms, rehabilitation and reintegration model.
Great thanks to Egmont for the opportunity.
