Youth Enabled Zambia joins the disability fraternity in mourning the passing of a gallant soldier, Amb. Sylvestor Katontoka, fondly known as Aluta Continua within the disability movement. His untimely passing leaves a profound void across the movement.
Aluta was a resilient human rights defender who championed policy reform and advanced inclusion for Persons with Disabilities across all sectors of development.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire disability community.

Last week, we had the honour of participating in a national consultation meeting for Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), led by the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.

We strongly reinforced the principle of “Nothing About Us Without Us”, emphasizing the importance of ensuring disability inclusion is central to national development planning.
