The EPONDI Project, with support from FORUT, continues to strengthen community efforts to reduce alcohol and substance abuse among young people in Chirundu District.

This week, two key stakeholder engagement activities were successfully conducted:

1. Stakeholder Mapping Meeting – The meeting brought together key actors to identify community-specific drivers, existing gaps, and opportunities for coordinated action in addressing alcohol and substance abuse among young people.

2. Stakeholder Orientation Meeting – Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), government institutions, traditional and community leaders, and the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) were oriented on the EPONDI Project to strengthen collaboration and coordination in preventing alcohol and substance abuse and promoting the wellbeing of young people.

The EPONDI Project envisions that by 2028, young people will have reduced high intake of alcohol and drugs, contributing to improved mental health, fewer cases of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), reduced teenage pregnancies, lower HIV and STI infection rates, fewer school dropouts, reduced crime, lower mortality, and improved livelihoods.

Together, we can create healthier, safer, and more resilient communities for young people.

Breaking news 🚨😁

Having a different political opinion is NOT a crime.

You can disagree and still:
1. Share a meal 🍲
2. Play football ⚽
3. Laugh together πŸ˜‚ and,
4. Build Zambia together.✌😎

Let's make elections a competition of ideas, not a competition of anger.

Peaceful elections begin with peaceful citizens.
