Is There Truly Advocacy for Equality?
Discussions on often focus solely on women, unintentionally diluting the true essence of equality. A fair society must champion inclusivity for all.

Even in areas like childbirth, where women play a central role, men should also be engaged through policies such as mandatory , ensuring shared responsibility.

At Ulubuto, we lead by example, fostering inclusivity through initiatives like , which provides equal opportunities for boys and girls to thrive in tech.

Ulubuto Celebrates Youth Day: Voices Amplified, Innovations Ignited

Today, we celebrate Youth Day under the inspiring theme: "Voices Amplified and Innovations Ignited." This theme underscores the urgent need for young people to have a stronger voice in shaping Zambia’s future—because they are the ones who will ultimately live with the consequences of today's decisions. It also highlights the importance of harnessing youth creativity to drive progress and transformation.
At Ulubuto Gender Equity, we are committed to empowering young people by providing platforms for them to take initiative and play a key role in shaping the Zambia of tomorrow. Our policy of youth inclusivity has enabled us to welcome bright young minds into our organization, with many even stepping into leadership positions.
As the world becomes increasingly fast-paced and complex, it is our duty—both as civil society organizations and as individuals—to mentor and equip the next generation. These young people will be the custodians of our land, and we must prepare them to be the leaders we need today and in the future.

Today is a day to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women all over the world. International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8th, has been recognized for over a century as a day to advocate for women's rights and gender equality. This year's theme, 'For All Women and Girls.Rights. Equality. Empowerment.' is a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by women and the need to double down on efforts to promote their fair treatment and provide them a platform to be their best selves.

As we reflect on this theme, it is important to acknowledge the many rights that women have been denied, especially in developing countries. From access to education, healthcare, and equal pay, to the basic human rights of safety and security, women have been fighting for equality for far too long. Even in today's modern world, it takes double the effort for a woman to reach a position of influence in comparison to a man.

At Ulubuto, we recognize the importance of women's rights, equality, and empowerment. We believe that every woman and girl has the right to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential, without discrimination or limitation. That is why we are committed to creating a level playing field for both men and women, in hopes of building a world where no one feels left behind.

Through our community work, such as dialogues and technical programs that include women, we are actively contributing to the promotion of women's rights, equality, and empowerment. We believe that empowering women not only benefits them, but also has a positive impact on their families, communities, and society as a whole. We also recognize that there is still a long way to go in achieving true gender equality. It is for this reason that, on this International Women's Day, we urge everyone to join us in our mission to create a world where women and girls are treated equally and have the same opportunities as men. Whether it's through small acts of kindness, or larger efforts to promote gender equality and women's rights, every action counts.

Together, let's work towards a future where women and girls are no longer held back by societal norms and gender stereotypes, and where their voices are heard and valued. We believe that by empowering women, we can build a better, more equal world for all.

So, on this International Women's Day, let us celebrate the achievements of women and girls, while also acknowledging the work that still needs to be done. Let us come together to promote gender equality and women's rights, and make sure that every woman and girl has the courage and support to reach their full potential. Because when women succeed, we all succeed.

Today, on the International Day for Persons with Disabilities

We celebrate the incredible achievements and contributions of persons with disabilities. This year’s theme, "Amplifying the leadership of PWDs for an inclusive and sustainable future," resonates deeply with our work at Ulubuto Gender Equity (UGE).

At UGE, we are committed to fostering inclusivity through initiatives that empower individuals of all abilities in communities like Bauleni, Kanyama, and Chipata. Our efforts amplify the voices of persons with disabilities, creating opportunities for leadership and personal growth.

Together with our dedicated volunteers, we are breaking barriers, promoting equity, and building a future where everyone’s potential is recognized and celebrated. Let’s continue working towards a society that truly leaves no one behind!

Did you know that we’re consuming Earth’s resources faster than it can replenish them?

As humanity grows and competes for limited resources, our planet strains to recover, leading to irreversible damage. Every individual has a role to play in restoring this balance. It’s on us to protect and renew the earth by making mindful choices that give back as much as we take. Let's honor our shared responsibility to preserve a thriving planet for generations to come.

At UGE, we take pride in fostering a sustainable environment for all through various projects, including supporting tree planting initiatives and empowering women to create their own backyard plantations.
