💚 Understanding Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) 💚

Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) is a life-saving treatment for people living with kidney failure. It uses the body's natural abdominal lining (the peritoneum) to filter waste, excess fluids, and toxins when the kidneys can no longer do their job properly.

Through a small catheter, a special dialysis fluid is placed into the abdomen, where it absorbs waste products before being drained away. One of the greatest advantages of PD is that it can be done at home, allowing children and adults to continue living, learning, and spending precious time with their families.

Behind every dialysis treatment is a story of strength, hope, and resilience. Let us continue to raise awareness about kidney disease, support affected families, and advocate for better access to life-saving care.

What an incredible and impactful World Kidney Day it was! The Pediatric Kidney Support Foundation is deeply grateful to the Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Health for taking the time to grace the event and stand with us in raising awareness about kidney health.
Your presence showed strong commitment to improving kidney care and supporting children living with kidney disease.
