The Zambia Youth Workers Initiative (ZYWI) is a Faith Based Organization (FBOs) which was established to address the challenges that affect the youth, orphans and vulnerable children, and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Social, spiritual, psychological, emotional and cognitive) which need to be met for them to take charge of their own lives, grow into sound adults and become positive contributors t
o Society. We believe that society can do much more, to uplift the lives of young people in our communities and we are here to advocate for this cause. To address this concern, ZYWI participates through Kids and Youth Clubs in the community and in schools to provide young people with an arena where they can interact positively but also meaningfully and learn life’s values, understand who they are, show love, care and appreciate each other. Through team building games, teaching, meaningful participation, fellowship, praise, worship and mentor-ship, we are committed to empowering young people with life-skills that help save and sustain lives, support them with educational requirements such as school fees, books, uniforms etc (for those in school) and entrepreneurial skills for the youths who are out of school by virtue of having completed school awaiting to go to college or having difficulties finding college/university fees and even those who haven’t attained formal education but are members of the program. One of the unique unique approaches we have is called PAKT (Parents And Kids Together) a platform where children and parents interact outside the home setting. PAKT gives chance for children and parents to share ideas and best practices of facing day to day challenges of home life. The program also looks at cultural differences that affect young people in Zambia and to a greater extent help promote the African Culture.
