YO TAZ Attends the UNWTO CAM CAF Summit in Livingstone, Zambia
The Youth Tourism Association of Zambia (YO TAZ) had the privilege of attending the UNWTO CAM CAF Summit, held in Livingstone, Zambia, from 8th to 11th April 2025.
The future of tourism is promising, and as a team, we are working tirelessly to build strong partnerships and advocate for opportunities that empower young people in the tourism sector.
During the summit, we engaged with both local and international delegates to explore collaborations that will help young people gain the skills and financial support needed to thrive in the industry.
One of the key highlights was meeting the UNWTO Secretary-General, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, who shared encouraging words with us as young tourism leaders. We also had fruitful interactions with various Ministers of Tourism from Africa and the Americas, including Zambia’s Honourable Minister of Tourism, Mr. Rodney Sikumba, Permanent Secretary Mr. Evans Muhanga, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism.
We held discussions on potential international partnerships, particularly in the area of program exchange. These partnerships aim to allow our students to gain international placement opportunities while welcoming international students to experience tourism training and practice here in Zambia.
We are excited about the road ahead and remain committed to creating meaningful opportunities for the youth in Zambia’s tourism sector.
