ZCID COMMENDS ECZ ON DELIMITATION OF 70 NEW CONSTITUENCIES

The Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) commends the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for the announcement of 70 new constituencies, noting that the constituencies have been delimited fairly.

ZCID acknowledges that the delimitation process reflects a balanced and equitable approach, taking into account population distribution and the need to strengthen representation across the country. This fair delimitation is a critical step towards enhancing inclusive governance and ensuring that citizens are more effectively represented.

The Centre believes that fairness in constituency delimitation is fundamental to building trust in electoral processes and promoting democratic consolidation. In this regard, ZCID welcomes this development as a positive contribution towards credible and representative electoral outcomes.

ZCID encourages all political stakeholders to receive this outcome in good faith and to continue engaging constructively through dialogue as the country prepares for the 2026 General Elections.

The Centre remains committed to supporting efforts that promote transparency, equity, and national unity in Zambia’s democratic processes.
