๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’œ International Womenโ€™s Day 2025 ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒ

Zambia National Association of Women with Disabilities joins the Zambian and International community in celebrating International Women's Day! This yearโ€™s theme, "For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equity. Empowerment," is a powerful reminder that true progress must include everyone, especially women and girls with disabilities!

๐Ÿ”น What do we expect from the government & stakeholders?
โœ… Stronger laws & policies that protect the rights of women & girls with disabilities.
โœ… Inclusive education & economic empowerment opportunities.
โœ… Accessible healthcare, including sexual & reproductive health services.
โœ… More women with disabilities in leadership & decision-making spaces.
โœ… Awareness campaigns to end stigma & discrimination.

Women with disabilities deserve to be seen, heard, and included in every space! Letโ€™s break barriers, champion inclusion, and create a world where ALL women and girls thrive. โœŠ๐Ÿพ

As the Zambia National Association for Women with Disabilities, we are deeply saddened by the horrific incident that occurred in Mufulira town, where a woman with a psychosocial disability was brutally stripped naked and beaten, resulting in her tragic and untimely death.

The alarming silence from legal authorities and the media is concerning, particularly as our country joins the international community in celebrating International Women's Day, whose theme is 'For all Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment.' We cannot stand idly by while one of our own is stripped of her rights and dignity.

We demand justice for the victim and her family, and we call on the authorities to take immediate action to investigate this heinous crime and hold the perpetrators accountable.
