Today, Proactive Community Action (PCA) proudly joins the global community in commemorating World Health Day 2026 under the theme, “Together for health: Stand with science.”

As an organization committed to promoting community well-being, PCA recognizes that achieving better health outcomes requires collective effort, informed decision-making, and a strong reliance on scientific knowledge. This year’s theme reminds us that health is not an individual pursuit, but a shared responsibility that calls for collaboration among communities, institutions, and nations.

In our communities, we continue to witness the importance of evidence-based approaches in addressing health challenges such as access to healthcare, disease prevention, and health education. By standing with science, we empower individuals with accurate information, encourage healthy behaviors, and strengthen systems that support long-term well-being.

PCA remains dedicated to advocating for inclusive health interventions, supporting vulnerable populations, and promoting awareness on key health issues affecting our society. We believe that when communities are informed and united, they become stronger and more resilient.

As we mark this important day, let us all commit to working together, trusting science, and building healthier communities for generations to come.

Yesterday, Proactive Community Action (PCA) proudly commemorated National Youth Day in remarkable style.

In collaboration with the Zambia University College of Technology Debate Society at Zambia University College of Technology, we successfully hosted an engaging Inter-Faculty Debate under the inspiring theme “Arise and Soar.”

The debate brought together brilliant minds from the School of Engineering, School of Business, and School of IT, creating a powerful platform for young people to exchange ideas, sharpen their critical thinking, and amplify the voice of youth in national development.

The event was a great success and truly reflected the spirit of youth empowerment, collaboration, and intellectual growth. PCA remains committed to creating opportunities that inspire young people to rise, lead, and soar to greater heights.

These snapshots capture our commitment to youth participation, dialogue, and leadership development values that continue to guide our work throughout the year. More engagements, more impact, and more conversations that matter ahead.

Proactive Community Action was proud to be part of the Copperbelt University Fresher vs Fresher Inter-Association Debate, organized by the Copperbelt University Debate Society starting the year on a high note through meaningful engagement and intellectual exchange.

The debate brought together various student associations to deliberate on critical national and global issues, including governance, gender equality, environmental policy, artificial intelligence, and international relations.

Our participation reflects our continued commitment to promoting youth engagement, critical thinking, informed dialogue, and active participation in issues that shape our communities and national development. We commend the organizers and all participating associations for fostering a culture of debate, leadership, and active citizenship among students.

🌍 World AIDS Day 2025

Today, Proactive Community Action joins the global community in commemorating World AIDS Day 2025 a day to remember, reflect, and renew our commitment to ending HIV and AIDS.

This year’s theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,” challenges all of us to rethink how we approach HIV prevention, treatment, education, and support.
Despite global challenges from economic pressures to gaps in health services our communities continue to rise with resilience, courage, and innovation.

At Proactive Community Action, we affirm that:

✔ HIV is preventable.
✔Access to treatment and information is a right.
✔ Stigma is still the biggest barrier and together, we can break it.
✔ Young people, women, and vulnerable groups must remain at the center of the response.

As we mark this day, we stand with:
❤️ Individuals living with HIV
❤️ Families affected by HIV
❤️ Community health champions
❤️ Organisations working tirelessly to provide care and support

We also remember those we have lost and recommit ourselves to a future where no one is left behind.

Our Call to Action

🔹 Get tested and know your status
🔹 Support friends and family without stigma
🔹 Share accurate information
🔹 Advocate for accessible healthcare
🔹 Stand up for those affected by HIV and AIDS

Together, we can transform the AIDS response.

Cosmas Ngoma writes;

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2025

Theme: “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls”

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual global campaign that runs from 25 November to 10 December, calling individuals, communities, and institutions worldwide to take action in ending all forms of gender-based violence.
This year’s theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” highlights the urgent need to address online abuse, cyberbullying, digital harassment, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, and other forms of technology-facilitated violence.

In today’s world, digital platforms have become central to education, communication, and economic participation. However, they also serve as spaces where women and girls face increasing levels of harm. Online violence not only affects emotional well-being but also limits meaningful participation in digital spaces. The 2025 theme urges all stakeholders to create safer online environments, strengthen digital literacy, promote accountability, and challenge harmful behaviors rooted in gender inequality.

While this year’s theme focuses on women and girls, it is equally important to recognize that violence affects individuals of all genders. Boys and men also experience physical, emotional, and psychological abuse, often in silence due to stigma and societal expectations.
I stand in solidarity with all survivors of violence, regardless of gender, and acknowledge the need for inclusive support systems that protect every person’s dignity, safety, and rights.

I pledge to stand firmly against all forms of intimate partner violence.
I commit myself to promoting respect, safety, and non-violence in all relationships, both offline and online. I will raise awareness, support survivors, challenge harmful attitudes, and use every platform available to advocate for equality and justice.
I choose to be part of the solution today and every day.
