Action Against Hunger in partnership with the Local Authority, the Victim Support Unit (VSU), and Gender stakeholders, conducted community engagement meetings in Monze district to raise awareness and strengthen collective action against digital Gender-Based Violence (GBV) as part of the global campaign.
Together with traditional leaders, community members, leaders, teachers, and school pupils, in Hamapande, we facilitated powerful, inclusive discussions through dialogue, education, and shared experiences focused on;
โ
Addressing the realities of digital violence and online harassment,
โ
Promoting safe, responsible use of digital platforms for community coordination and access to climate and agricultural information,
โ
Strengthening reporting mechanisms and access to survivor support services,
โ
Empowering women and girls to safely access information and digital platforms without fear of harassment, abuse, or discrimination ensuring their full and equal participation in climate-resilient livelihoods and community development.
โ
Community led actions to protect the rights and dignity of women and girls
This engagement reinforced a fundamental truth, ending GBV is everyoneโs responsibility. When institutions and communities stand together, and when communities are informed, united, and empowered, silence is broken and real change begins.
By involving leaders, educators, and young people, we are nurturing a generation that is informed, values respect, equality, and digital safety.
