JATA Zambia Brings Advanced Healthcare to Bauleni!

JATA Zambia, in a collaborative effort between the people of Japan and the Zambian government, has made significant strides in improving healthcare accessibility in Zambia. On Monday, October 28th, 2024, JATA Zambia officially commissioned a state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine at Bauleni Health Centre.
This milestone event was graced by H.E. Mr. TAKEUCHI Kazuyuki, Ambassador of Japan, and Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi, Permanent Secretary, who represented the Guest of Honour, Honourable Minister of Health Dr. Elijah Muchima, in receiving the digital X-ray machine at Bauleni Health Centre.
The event was attended by senior government officials, key representatives from Bauleni Health Centre, and a gathering of Bauleni residents. This marks a new era in healthcare accessibility for the community.
Ambassador Takeuchi expressed hope that this project would enhance early detection and treatment of TB, thereby improving the local community's healthcare. He also expressed optimism about future collaborations in the health sector between Japan and Zambi
The AI-powered digital x-ray machine will provide faster and more accurate diagnoses, improving patient care. Additionally, residents will no longer need to travel long distances to Chilenje Health Centre or UTH for x-ray services. To ensure uninterrupted healthcare services, JATA Zambia has also installed an inverter system, guaranteeing the laboratory and x-ray building remain operational during power outages.
JATA Zambia has a long history of contributing to Zambia's healthcare infrastructure. In 2019, JATA Zambia also installed an x-ray machine and trained healthcare professionals on using the AI-powered digital x-ray machine at Kalilinga Health Centre. Additionally, in 2011, JATA Zambia constructed an x-ray building and installed the initial x-ray machine at Bauleni Health Centre. This latest upgrade underscores their commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality in Zambia.
