🚨 L' African Association of Accountants General - AAAG organise un webinaire intitulé « Renforcer le reporting de durabilité dans le secteur public conformément à la norme IPSASB SRS 1 ».

📣 Ce webinaire portera sur la préparation des rapports financiers intégrant la durabilité dans le secteur public, en mettant l’accent sur la norme B SRS 1 (Climate Related disclosures).

🔴 Il abordera également le rôle du Trésor public en matière d'intégrité des données climatiques, de transparence budgétaire, de qualité des rapports financiers et de résilience financière face aux risques climatiques.

✍ A joint study by the African Association of Accountants General (AAAG) and Aston University highlights how important financial oversight is for improving public spending in Africa.

🚨 The study recommends that the Office of the Accountant General should move beyond its traditional compliance role and become a strategic fiscal institution. This would include responsibilities like government-wide reporting, ensuring fiscal integrity, supporting digital modernisation, and evidence-based decision making.

📌 The research highlights five main reform priorities for African countries:

1️⃣ Strengthen legal and institutional frameworks to support reliable reporting and operational independence
2️⃣ Accelerate digitalisation by using integrated IFMIS platforms and improving data governance systems
3️⃣ Invest in professional development, technical skills, and workforce growth
4️⃣ Strengthen transparency and accountability systems so that reporting leads to real oversight and better governance
5️⃣ Encourage peer learning across Africa, coordinate reform support, and share evidence through AAAG and its partners.

✅ The paper also recommends pilot reforms tailored to each country, building stronger institutions, and sharing best practices more widely across Africa.
