Dzuka Cholinga Youth Zambia (DCZ) is a youth led community-based Organization that brings together young people in different communities across Zambia for them to realize their rights and potential MISSION STATEMENT
To work together, in cooperation with the community, towards the development of a strong youth and community. PLEDGE
On my own, I promise to serve my community and I will always be the

re when called upon. OBJECTIVES
To raise awareness in the community on the importance of people driven governance and empower its local people to take part in various processes of governance. To promote positive sexual and reproductive health practices among young people in order to enhance good health and wellbeing. Creation of a society which has young people that are well informed and eager to contribute to the development of their communities. MOTTO
Strong and fit for my community

Areas of Operations
Governance
Teaching and mobilizing youth for them to stand for elective office, vote on merit, how best they can participant in an election through encouraging them to get national registration cards and voteโ€™s cards, then how to hold their leaders accountable with the positions given and also encourage youths that want to take up leadership positions by educating them on how to be good leaders. Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights
Sexual and reproductive health and rights are in particular important to young people because it is their right to have access to the correct information and services to positively influence their sexual health and future lives. Youths need to realize their Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Is Key to Achieving Equality. We will Support Girls and boys To Access Quality Sexual Health Services and Eliminate Harmful Practices. Teenage pregnancy can rob girls of their potential by ceasing their education and giving them adult responsibilities. An estimated 800 adolescent girls give birth every year in this mandevu constituency. Empowerment
We are empowering the community through enabling the youth to increase control over their lives. By allowing them to be spatially connected, but share common interests, concerns or identities. Young people need to gain control over the factors and decisions that shape their lives. It is the process by which they will increase their assets and attributes and build capacities to gain access, partners, networks and/or a voice, in order to gain control. We are make sure they are empowered by others through skills sharing. Gender-based violence
GBV is a big problem and the numbers keep going up. An annual survey by the Victim Support Unit of the Zambia Police Service reveals that in 2016 the country recorded 18,540 cases of gender-based violence, more than the 18,088 cases recorded in the previous year. Which is not supposed to be the case. As a community-based organization, we are educating young men and women how they can avoid and report this kind of abuse in one of the areas we take seriously. Art
As we all know art is one of the most popular and powerful ways of getting information out there as Dzuke Cholinga Youth Zambia we use different types of art to educate, mobilize and inspire art poetry, drama, film, painting, music, literature, and dance. We are youth!

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ OUR CALL FOR PEACE AND AN END TO POLITICAL VIOLENCE IN ZAMBIA ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

As Dzuka Cholinga Youth Zambia, an organisation committed to promoting youth participation, good governance, human rights and peaceful communities, we strongly condemn all forms of political violence, intimidation, harassment and physical attacks during this election period.

The recent brutal attack on musician General Kanene by individuals reported to be unknown cadres is deeply concerning and should not be normalised in our democracy. Regardless of our political affiliation, differences or opinions, no Zambian deserves to be attacked for expressing themselves, supporting a political party or participating in the democratic process.

Elections are a competition of ideas, policies, leadership and vision not a battle between citizens. Political violence does not strengthen democracy; it weakens public trust, creates fear and divides communities that must continue living together long after elections are over.

We therefore call upon:

๐Ÿ”น Political parties and their leaders to condemn violence without reservation and ensure that their supporters conduct themselves peacefully.

๐Ÿ”น Law enforcement agencies to investigate reports of political violence impartially and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable, regardless of their political affiliation.

๐Ÿ”น Young people and political cadres to refuse to be used as instruments of violence. Our lives, futures and communities are worth more than political differences.

๐Ÿ”น Citizens to reject hate speech, provocation and violence, both physically and online, and to promote dialogue and tolerance.

We further call on all political actors to remember that political power is temporary, but the consequences of violence can last a lifetime.

Let us disagree without becoming enemies.
Let us compete without destroying one another.
Let us campaign without violence.
Let us vote without fear.
Let us protect the peace of our country.

Zambia belongs to all of us. ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

NO TO POLITICAL VIOLENCE.
YES TO PEACE.
YES TO DEMOCRACY.
YES TO A PEACEFUL ZAMBIA. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Reflecting on the Women Candidates Leadership Workshop | 9thโ€“11th July 2026

From 9th to 11th July 2026, Dzuka Cholinga Youth Zambia proudly participated in the Women Candidates Leadership Workshop by sending two representatives to take part in this impactful learning experience at Fatmols Lodge.

The workshop, organized by the African Women Leadership Forum (AWLF) in partnership with Girls Gone Political (GGP) and Polity Track Centre (PT), focused on strengthening women's leadership and political participation.

Throughout the three-day workshop, our representatives gained valuable insights into electoral processes, governance, legal frameworks, political participation and regional and international standards that support women's leadership.

The knowledge, skills and networks gained will contribute to our ongoing commitment to promoting youth leadership, civic engagement, gender equality, and inclusive governance in Zambia.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers for creating a platform that empowers current and aspiring leaders. We look forward to applying these lessons in our work and sharing them with the communities we serve.

Yesterday, we proudly participated in the Validation Meeting for the National Youth Development Strategy (2026โ€“2031), convened by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre under the Office of the Permanent Secretary.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders to review, validate, and strengthen the draft strategy to ensure it effectively responds to the aspirations and needs of young people across Zambia.

We are honored to have contributed our insights and recommendations towards shaping an inclusive, innovative, and youth-centered strategy that will guide youth development and empowerment for years to come.

As we commemorate World No To***co Day, we remind young people that not everything that looks trendy or enjoyable is good for our future. To***co and ni****ne products continue to destroy many young lives through addiction disguised as fashion, popularity, and entertainment.

This year's commemoration is a call to unmask the appeal of to***co and ni****ne products and expose the dangers hidden behind attractive marketing. Let us choose health, purpose, and a brighter future over addiction.

Together, let's build communities where young people are empowered to make informed choices and live to***co-free lives.

We were honored to take part in a powerful youth engagement activity in Garden Compound alongside Fight Inequality Alliance, Fix It Movement, and Youth Ignite focused on the importance of political education during this election period. โœŠ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ

The engagement created an important platform for young people to discuss governance, civic responsibility, accountability, and the power of active participation in democracy.

As Zambia approaches a critical election period, political education remains key in ensuring that young people are informed, empowered, and able to make independent decisions that shape the future of their communities and the nation at large.

The voices, energy, and participation from the young people in Garden Compound were a strong reminder that the youth are not just leaders of tomorrow they are active stakeholders today. ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Together, we continue pushing for an informed, engaged, and active citizenry.

We successfully implemented a transformative community engagement activity across Mpulungu, Mbala, and Senga Hills titled Manifesto Simplification, aimed at empowering citizens with clear, practical knowledge ahead of elections under the newly introduced Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) system.

Recognizing that this system brings a significant shift in how representatives are elected, the initiative focused on breaking down complex political party manifestos into simple, relatable messages that ordinary people can understand and use to make informed decisions.

By creating open spaces for dialogue, learning, and critical thinking, we enabled community members to not only grasp how the MMP system works, but also to meaningfully compare political agendas and hold leaders accountable. This activity stands as a bold step toward strengthening democratic participation, ensuring that every vote is not just cast, but cast with knowledge, confidence, and purpose.
This initiative was proudly supported by ActionAid.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Kenneth Kaunda, a visionary leader and founding father of our nation whose dedication and sacrifice laid the foundation for the Zambia we proudly call home.
As the first President of Zambia, he stood at the forefront of the struggle for freedom, courageously leading the fight for independence that we continue to enjoy today.
His values of unity, peace, and human dignity remain a guiding light for generations. As an organization, we celebrate his remarkable contribution to nation-building and reaffirm our commitment to uphold the principles he championed for a better and more inclusive Zambia.

With support from ActionAid and Global Platform Zambia We successfully hosted a Manifesto Audit Activity in Mbala, bringing together community members, including active participation from villagers of Senga Hillโ€™s Kalyati Village, in a timely and highly relevant engagement as the country approaches the forthcoming general elections.

This activity proved to be extremely critical in empowering citizens with a deeper understanding of political party manifestos, especially in light of the newly introduced Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) representation system, which requires voters to make more informed and issue-based decisions. Through open discussions and civic education, participants were equipped with the knowledge to critically analyze policy promises, assess party priorities, and understand how their vote directly influences both constituency and proportional representation outcomes.

The engagement also created a platform for rural voices to be heard, ensuring that communities like Kalyati are not left behind in national democratic processes, while strengthening citizen awareness, accountability, and meaningful participation in Zambiaโ€™s evolving electoral landscape.
