Partnering for better health outcomes in Chibombo District! 🇿🇲🇯🇵

Our team, led by Founder and CEO Dr. Kawahara, was honored to join the Central Province Health Office, District Commissioner Mr. Lloyd Kayeka, and the Chibombo Town Council team to review our joint TB support projects across 4 local health facilities.
From the new chest clinic at Mwachisopola Level I Hospital to mobile X-ray equipment and transport, we are proud to work together to bring quality health care closer to the community.

Bringing Quality Care Closer to Home! ✨

Long travel times and diagnostic delays shouldn't stand between rural families and life-saving care. That’s why last week Monday, Rocinantes NGO Zambia teamed up with the Chisamba District Health Office, community leaders, and local partners for the official handover of transformed diagnostic services at Malombe Rural Health Centre!

Speaking during the event, our Country Director, Mr. Takashi Miyakawa, emphasized our commitment to ensuring quality healthcare reaches every community. By bringing advanced digital X-ray imaging and rapid lab diagnostics under one roof, we're cutting down delays and making early TB detection faster and more accessible than ever.

A huge thank you to the Chisamba DHO and our local leaders for their guidance, leadership, and support in making this project a reality—proving what’s possible when partners build for long-term sustainability. And to the incredible healthcare workers staffing the facility: thank you for being the heart of this mission! 💪🇿🇲

Supporting Rural Healthcare at Chikon Rural Health Centre!

Our team recently visited Chikon Rural Health Centre to support the facility and the incredible mothers visiting for Antenatal Care (ANC).

During the visit, we were able to:
✨ Deliver 170 donated T-shirts to boost the local Male Involvement Programme.
✨ Hand over donated plastic spoons to equip the Mothers' Shelter.
✨Conduct supportive supervision and assist with routine obstetric ultrasound scans for 11 expecting mothers.

Despite busy clinic days and staffing constraints, the team at Chikon continues to work tirelessly for their community. Through ongoing mentorship and supportive supervision, Rocinantes remains committed to helping integrate routine ultrasound services into standard antenatal care—ensuring safe, timely, and quality healthcare for every mother.

Strengthening TB Diagnosis, Together! 🔬💡

We recently wrapped up an intensive training session to boost the TB microscopy skills of our local healthcare workers—from sample preparation to result interpretation!

Because sustainability matters, these participants aren't just learning—they are taking these crucial skills back to mentor and train their facility teams. By sharing best practices and strengthening our partnership with local health facilities, we’re building a stronger front against TB! 💪🩺

Our dedicated Maternal and Child Health (MCH) team is currently on the ground conducting an intensive, ongoing Ultrasound Refresher Training.

We recently held our monthly S.M.A.G. (Safe Motherhood Action Group) meeting at the Mwapula Mothers Shelter. It was a wonderful opportunity to sit down with our incredible volunteers, review their recent achievements in Chisamba District, and openly discuss the challenges they face in the field.
