BUILD ZAMBIA 2064 & Green Novelty Enterprise ltd
As part of our agricultural innovation activities, we conducted a practical demonstration using Organic OG Liquid Fertilizer on wheatgrass and azolla. The purpose was to observe how the plants responded to application and to demonstrate their potential for farmers, livestock producers, and integrated agricultural enterprises.
Application Rate Used:

- General foliar: 200ml of Organic OG Liquid Fertilizer mixed with 20 litres of water, applied using a sprayer
- For Azolla: 5L of fertilizer mixed with 1,000L of water
- For Wheatgrass: Seeds were first soaked in water for approximately 2 hours before planting. Following establishment, growth was monitored and a rapid growth response was observed within a short period.

1. WHY WHEATGRASS IS IMPORTANT

Wheatgrass is a young wheat plant harvested at an early stage of growth. From an agricultural perspective, it is particularly interesting because it can provide farmers with a rapidly produced source of green plant material:

- Rapid establishment (within 15 days)
- Intensive production on small land
- Livestock feeding potential
- Potential for year-round fodder production
- Opportunity for commercial fodder production

2. WHY AZOLLA IS ATTRACTIVE TO AGRICULTURE

Azolla is a fast-growing aquatic fern that doubled its biomass in every 2days compared to it's normal 3-5 days timeline. It is rich in protein (25-35%), fixes nitrogen from air, and serves as:

- Low-cost feed for chickens, pigs, fish and cattle
- Organic fertilizer for rice and vegetables
- Water purification and soil improvement

Key Result: Both crops responded rapidly to Organic OG, showing that farmers can produce their own high-protein livestock feed in 15 days using affordable organic inputs, instead of buying expensive commercial feed.

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA ARRIVES IN ABU DHABI FOR TWO-DAY WORKING VISIT

President Hakainde Hichilema has arrived safely in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for a two-day working visit focused on strengthening international partnerships and attracting more inward investment to Zambia.

The visit is part of the country’s Grow Zambia Agenda, with economic diplomacy taking centre stage as Zambia seeks to deepen partnerships that can unlock investment, promote value addition and support private-sector-led growth.

During the visit, President Hichilema is expected to engage with UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, participate in the Zambia–UAE Business and Investment Forum, and engage with UAE business leaders.

Key areas of cooperation include mining and mineral value addition, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, transport and logistics, tourism, and healthcare.

For Zambia, the opportunity goes beyond attracting capital. The focus is on building partnerships that can support local production, industrial development, job creation, technology transfer and stronger value chains.

As the engagements begin, attention will now turn to how these international partnerships can translate into tangible economic opportunities for Zambians.

Since the launch of the Men and Boys Mentorship Programme in Chipata, the response has been encouraging. The community is taking it seriously.

This weekend men from Blessed Hope Church gathered for their mentorship session. In Damview, a group of boys sat down for mentorship right at household level. Different places and different ages, but the same hunger to grow and become men of purpose.

This is what happens when a community decides that boys and men matter. When we invest in them, families get stronger, communities get stronger, and Zambia grows.

To every man and boy showing up, keep going. To every church, household and community leader opening their doors, thank you.

Dr Joseph mushalika was at Kafue College of Health Sciences and Research today for their Awards Day, celebrating students who have excelled academically.

As keynote speaker, Dr. Joseph Mushalika challenged the students to go beyond academic excellence and pursue a real transformation in mindset, one built on purpose and discipline.

He also introduced the Mentorship Guide, a resource designed to walk young people through that journey of personal and mental transformation.

Congratulations to all the outstanding students honoured today. Build Zambia 2064 remains committed to raising a generation of purpose-driven young people, in the classroom and beyond.

This is a mentorship class being run by Mr Renox Chela Headman Kapela of Shibuyunji District.
Mr Chela, an accomplished Social Worker, acquired the guide and was oriented by Dr Mushalika on guide utilization.
He has now commenced the roll out in his village.
Mr Chela and his mentees will attend the boot camp in December. We need more senior men countrywide emulating Mr Chela.
