BORN INTO FLOODS, EMBRACED BY HUMANITY
For most mothers, bringing a newborn home marks the beginning of a new chapter. For one woman from Nalolo District, it meant settling into a temporary shelter after floods forced her family from their home.
She gave birth to a healthy baby boy and now shares a tent in Senanga District with her husband and their six children, caring for her newborn while adapting to life after floods uprooted her family.
Zambia Red Cross Society HQ responded by providing baby clothes, a blanket and other essential non-food items as part of its ongoing relief operation for flood-affected households.
Amid the uncertainty of disaster, the baby's arrival is a reminder that life continues, and that timely humanitarian support can bring comfort and dignity when families need it most.
