How do we describe our Impact?

There are moments when when we pause and reflect on why we started the Interns Association of Zambia (IAZ).

It has never been just about internships.

It has always been about giving young people hope, confidence, and a fair chance to transition from education into meaningful work.
Every internship secured, every mentorship conversation, every career training session, and every young person who gains the confidence to pursue their dreams reminds us that small actions can create lasting impact.

Today, we are proud of what our team and volunteers have achieved together. From supporting internship placements to mentoring thousands of young people, we continue to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that more young Zambians are equipped with the skills, networks, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Our journey is still unfolding, but the impact is encouraging:

• 717 internship placements facilitated.
• 4,339 mentorship beneficiaries.
• 12+ career trainings and hybrid events delivered across Zambia.

None of this would have been possible without our dedicated volunteers, mentors, employers, universities, partners, and every young person who believed in our vision.

To organizations, employers, development partners, and changemakers: let's continue working together to create more opportunities for Zambia's youth. Investing in young people today is investing in the country's future workforce.

Zambia is facing a silent crisis, and it goes beyond unemployment. It's what unemployment—and unpreparedness—is doing to our young people.

Every year, thousands of students graduate with ambition, qualifications, and dreams. Yet too many find themselves back at home—not because they lack potential, but because they were never prepared for the realities of today's job market.

Behind every unemployed graduate is a story we rarely hear.

Confidence begins to fade.
Purpose starts to disappear.
Peer pressure grows louder.
And for some, drugs and substance abuse become an escape rather than a choice.

We are raising a generation that is:

• Educated, but not work-ready.
• Qualified, but disconnected from opportunities.
• Full of potential, but slowly losing hope.

The world of work is changing faster than ever. Employers are looking for practical skills, digital competence, experience, and adaptability—not just academic qualifications.

The solution is not only creating jobs.
