Our partners honouring the sacrifices mothers of children with visual impairment make.

Our partner at Sisabelo Saka Inclusive School in Lusaka shares;

"Agnes is a single mother of three with Moses being the youngest. To support the education of her son, Agnes brings him to school every school day. She makes a living by making door mats from recycled materials. She is also a hairdresser when she is not at the school with her son."

Agnes understands the importance of educating her son, she has been bringing him every day since 2019 (see pictures) . As he has visual impairments, she needs to accompany him to school. This drive and determination of many parents to support their children to reach their full potential is inspiring and replicated by many mothers across our projects.

On 6 December 2025 Sisabelo Saka Inclusive School hosted its second dining in the dark event at M'Kango Golfview Hotel.
The purpose of the Dinner in the Dark was to commemorate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), as well as to raise funds for the procurement of Braille writing equipment for our learners, and to support the school’s operational needs.
Thank you to all who supported the event through the purchase of tickets, cash donations and gift vouchers.

Today, we join the global community in commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the theme:

“Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.”

At Sisabelo Saka Inclusive School we strive to create an environment where learners with visual impairments are not only included, but empowered to thrive, lead, and inspire.
Building a disability-inclusive society means recognising that every child has unique strengths, abilities, and potential. It means creating spaces where accessibility, dignity, and equality are not optional—but essential. And it means working together to ensure that social progress includes everyone, without leaving anyone behind.

Blind-A-Thon 2025

On 13th September 2025, we walked a 5km route from Lewanika Mall to Novare Pinnacle Mall to continue raising awareness and advocating for inclusive education for visual impairment.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Professor Kelvin Mambwe, the Permanent Secretary Educational Services, who joined us in spearheading this important cause as our Guest of Honour. Your presence reinforced the significance of creating an inclusive learning environment for all.
