WHY PRESIDENT EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU HAS REJOINED POLITICS.

MEDIA STATEMENT.

We stated our views long before President Lungu announced his return to active politics and our article accompanied by a voice message are in public domain.

We had an idea that the sixth Republican President was itching to return but this time around he had no option getting back because the UPND Government are resolved eliminating the voice of the opposition in the Country and anyone who speaks in favor of the opposition is perceived an enemy.

There is literally nothing wrong in seeing the 6th Republican President returning to power. The UPND have facilitated his coming back to power due to the following;

(1) RAMPANT RISE OF TRIBALISM, NEPOTISM AND DISCRIMINATIONS.

The Government is reduced to a tribal regime as almost all key positions in sensitive departments are given to tribesmen and women of the President. Regionalism has deepened in the Country. How would you expect the President to discipline people at the helm of institutions who are not only loyal to the head of State but have fleshly ties?

I personally Joseck K***a the National Ambassador appointed by the Republican President on the 30th November 2020 to be a Change Agent, a Consultant, Civic educator and designated to shoulder the responsibility of implementing National Values and Principles have been a target of persecution and oppression by the UPND Government.

Many senior Government officials have protested against my appointment not for any reasons but because I am coming from the Northern Region. The Immigration Department for instance through Mr. Lisholo an ardent Lozi tribalist who is the Head of Legal Department at Immigration and the Director General for Immigration Department Mr. Japhet Lishomwa have spearheaded persecution against me to an extent of taking me to Court on tramped up allegations. All they are determined to do is to shut me up so that I stop denouncing their wrong deeds. Where in any Country have we witnessed an appointed Ambassador being sued to Court by the same Government that legitimized his appointment and when in fact he enjoys some form of Immunity in his dispensation of duties?

At some point in my endeavour to speak for the vulnerable people of our Society who include the Refugees I was told by the Permanent Secretary from Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Mr. Dickson Matembo that I was a disguised PF cadre and that he will never allow me to succeed in all that I was championing as long as he remained in Office.

Despite being objective, candid and liberal the UPND Government are able to give me a phone call from State House simply to scourge me on the basis that I was able to publish some articles purported to have been favoring the opposition. I have been facing some ridicule and apathy from some Senior Government officials simply for being factual. I have been receiving calls meant to frighten and intimidate me. Others have threatened eliminating me. I am ready to die for my Country and will not relent in advocating for National Values and Principles.

(2)PROMOTION OF ILLEGALITIES.

President Lungu is forced coming out of retirement because the UPND Government have decided going to bed with illegalities. Where on earth would the whole Government and it's machinery choose to side with a renegade member of a political party and begin giving him full support simply to thwart and bring down the main opposition political party? What made the Police Inspector General to intimate that he could not take any action against Mr. Miles Sampa as he remains innocent? When did a Law Enforcement Agency become an interpreter of the Law? How did the Police IG know about the innocence of Mr. Miles Sampa?

What was the motive of the Government prompting the Registrar of Societies issuing an ultimatum of 60 days for every political party going for a convention? Where did Mr. Miles Sampa obtain the permit and the legitimacy to hold the so called General Conference at Mulungushi International Conference? Who allowed the Zambia Police to provide security to such an illegality? Who is sending the Zambia Police to stop Dr. Lungu from accessing the PF Secretariat? Who is legalizing the Lawlessness in the Country apart from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security?

(3) THE COST OF LIVING IS TOO HIGH.

The other reason that has prompted the former President coming into active politics is that the cost of living for our empoverished people is extremely too high! In short the promises made by the UPND while in opposition that when they are ushered into office, they would fix issues remain unfulfilled. Although the UPND still feel they have done their part, the majority citizens remain despondent.

The economic hardships being faced by our people have compelled them to have a soft look at the former administration and many are thinking of giving the Patriotic Front another chance. Others are looking at the Socialist Party as an alternative to the UPND Government. Still others can not wait to see the opposition teaming up together to remove the elephant in the house. It has been over 26 months since the UPND formed Government but up to now they are attributing all the sufferings we are going through to the PF poor governance.

Had the UPND done their part in enhancing the livelihood of the people, the opposition would literally have no room for putting up any contention with the Government. In short the current political tension we are witnessing is as a result of failures on the part of Government and the Government must blame itself and never shift the blame on anyone.

(4) ABUSE OF AUTHORITY AND BRUTALITIES BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES.

We must all come to terms with the fact that there is a brazen abuse of authority by the Law Enforcement Agencies. Since the Republican President is the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, we must rightly conclude that all the actions being taken by Law Enforcement Agencies are being initiated by the Head of State.

The rampant arrests of the opposition members including Mr. Sean Tembo, Mr. Gabriel Banda, Mr. Sturdy Mwale to mention but a few goes to show that the State is exerting itself too much on innocent and vulnerable people. Honestly speaking we are now tired of these arrests. The UPND Government is still very bitter against it's perceived enemies to an extent that they have wasted time working on noble issues.

(5) THE COLLAPSE AND COMPROMISE OF THE THREE (3) ORGANS OF THE GOVERNMENT.

Truthfully speaking all the three (3) Organs of the Government are compromised. Although the three Organs are said to be operating independently, the Executive has instead taken the leading role. We are headed for a total collapse of our Governance system where the Legislature and the Judiciary become a rubber stamp of the Executive.

It is suicidal in Zambia realizing that the whole National Assembly and indeed Parliament is reduced to serving the interest of the Executive. Members of Parliament are no longer free debating issues. Their voices are being muzzled by the Speaker of the National Assembly. We now have a Speaker in the name of Ms.. Nelli Mutti who is resolved to silencing the voices of the members of Parliament. Almost all bills and motions being tabled in the house are fully sensored and edited. The ruling Party is determined eliminating the opposition party and indirectly introduce a one party state.

His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema is not a democrat as he earlier claimed. Instead he is a terrible dictator and a person who is ruling with an iron fist. The whole behavior of the ruling Party in Zambia shows signs of a tyrannical regime.

The entire Executive Arm of the Executive is being managed by a tribal clique from Southern Province, Western and a few traces of North Western and Central Province. Up to now, the Chief Government spokesperson honorable Cornelius Mweetwa has not commented on the list circulating in public domain published by the Whistleblower listing heads and assistants of people appointed at State House. Should we therefore be made to conclude that the purported list is factual? Why is the Government quiet about it?

We can not afford remaining quiet seeing the Judiciary which is our last hope handling national issues with biasness. It is imminent that the recent appointments and changes at the Constitutional and High Court level are meant to put in place Judges who must decide in favor of the Government.

Once all the vents and loopholes of Justice are sealed, people will have no option but to find a way out to air their grievances and the way out might not be conducive for our Democratic tenets.

CONCLUSION.

We wish to make a kind appeal to the UPND Government to tone down and revert to the noble way of running national affairs. Neither should the Government trivialize or take easily the current happenings taking place in the Country. Chances are very high that these happenings might culminate into Countrywide turmoil.

People need to be given a breathing space. We are in a democracy where people are free belonging to a party of their choice. A few months ago, the UPND Government had been calling on the former President to come out in the open and declare his political ambitions. Now that he has done what they dared him to do, we are wondering why they now feel unsettled and skeptical.

Although the political tension building up in the Country appear to be coming from within, let us not forget that some super powers are watching with keen interest. United States of America and Britain (Anglo America), China, Russia and others have a lot of interest in our affairs. Remember the cited Countries are beneficiaries of our national spoils and can choose to side with anyone championing their values. We should therefore avoid having a short sight of our national issues but instead we need to broaden our views.

We are therefore calling upon the UPND Government to take a honest introspection about their agenda and remember that they vowed to uphold the Constitution of our Country. Those in Government must also remember that they will be held accountable for all the actions they are taking in breach of our Constitution.

NIBBLING ON THE LIFE OF MY COLLEAGUE - ANDREW NTHEWEWE!

MEDIA STATEMENT!

I write in order to carry out my sombre introspections about the life pattern of my colleague Andrew Nthewewe who died at the University Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Sunday the 21st October 2023 after loosing a battle with kidney failure.

I should hasten to mention that Andrew was not only my colleague but a compatriot and a yoke fellow in rendering national services to the Nation. Mr. Nthewewe was the Leader and Chief Executive Officer for the YALI Organization.

REFLECTING ON THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF MR. NTHEWEWE.

Although our Zambian culture demands that we only speak positive things about our dead loved ones, it would be a sign of betrayal, cowardice and hypocrisy on my part focussing on the positive attributes Andrew manifested without citing the weaknesses I perceived in him. Besides, I am a leader of National Values and Principles entailing that I need to be honest, sincere, candid, authentic, truthful, liberal and factual in my expressions.

In addition when we loose our beloved ones, it is incumbent upon all those still living to take some lessons from the foregoing. The book of Ecclesiastes Chapter 7 verse 2 and I quote says, "Better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting, for that is the end of every man, and the living should take it to heart."

Similarly the book of Psalms number 90 verse 12 admonishes all of us to learn how to count our days while we are alive. It is therefore imperative that we learn how to conduct ourselves while we are alive.

In that vain, we can rightly say that Andrew lived his life and the rest is left for us to do our part. As the situation stands, there is literally nothing we can do to change the narrative of Mr. Nthewewe's legacy.

May I now briefly discuss the positive attributes about Mr. Andrew Nthewewe's life.

HIS POSITIVES.

Andrew was an icon and an outstanding personage in his Advocacy. The man was unstoppable and had a burning zeal in his character. He never took things easily. Mr. Nthewewe was a good public speaker, an orator who flowed with brilliant ideas. He had a good command in English language and his speeches where full of humor and enthusiasm.

He was a composed speaker, animated and had good articulation. He was a thoughtful thinker whose utterances were well coordinated. His ideas were well arranged and his speeches could blend and made sense. No one can take it away from him Mr. Nthewewe was an intellect who had trained his perceptive powers in distinguishing wrong from right. Besides Andrew was courageous, forthright, candid, sincere and firm. In short, I would describe Andrew as a Lionlike Political Pundit.

THE WEAKNESSES.

Although Andrew excelled much in his attributes, there are some negative attributes he exhibited in his advocacy. I personally shared some notes and platform with Andrew at some point and noted some weaknesses in him.

Andrew accepted to be used by some selfish politicians. In short Mr. Nthewewe easily succumbed to political pressure. He allowed himself to be used by selfish individuals. Seemingly he failed to hold on to some principles and values of life.

Rather than maintaining neutrality in his dispensation of national duties, Andrew took sides in national issues. He was used as a mouthpiece for some politicians. As usual the relationship between Civil Society Organizations has a short life span. While Civil Society Organizations are indispensable to any political party vying for Office, it is important for any Organization to stand on its firm ground.

LESSONS FOR ALL OF US.

Comrade Nthewewe's death has left behind vital lessons for all of us who are still alive. It is sad mentioning that those in Government only take delight in Civil Society Organizations that are always towing in their direction. Due to economic hardships, Civil Society Organizations are coerced either taking sides with the Government or the opposition that have potential forming the next Government.

It is high time the Government stopped treating Civil Society leaders as adversaries. The Government must avoid embracing only those speaking it's language. We must begin seeing the Government recognizing those who serve as Civil Society leaders. Such ones must also be lined up to receive Presidential Meritocratic recognitions. It is a very risky business speaking up and exposing the wrongs of the Government. It takes self sacrifice, love for others and patriotism choosing to speak for the Voiceless.

It is sad that while the deaths of honorable Amusaa Mwanamwambwa and Hon Ng'andu Magande have received wide coverage and publicity, the death of Comrade Nthewewe is not less important. If possible Civil Society Leaders must also be accorded a National Funeral.

Truthfully speaking Civil Society Leaders worldwide have left indelible marks on the minds of people just like some politicians. In fact it's the Civil Society leaders that have pioneered change in many Countries.

Indeed we need to celebrate the life of Comrade Andrew Nthewewe for the noble cause he championed!

MPNVP DISAGREES WITH MR. SEAN TEMBO'S REPORT TO THE ICC.

MEDIA STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

The Movement for Promoting National Values and Principles a local Civil Society Organization wish to dismiss and disagree with the published report by the PeP Leader Mr. Sean Tembo.

Mr. Tembo who is one of the opposition leaders in Zambia has cited the Zambian Government to the International Criminal Court of Justice allerging that there is a rampant violation and abuse of human rights in the UPND led Government. The PeP leader highlighted four (4) main reasons as basis or grounds for incriminating the Zambian Government.

After a thorough analysis and synchronization of the factors and reasons advanced, Movement for Promoting National Values and Principles strongly felt the need to give a reaction against the assertions documented by Mr. Tembo.

While we do not qualify stopping any aggrieved citizen from seeking help from the International Community, we have a Constitutional mandate to preserve and protect the Integrity of our Nation. As an Organization, we have a responsibility to uphold the Sovereignty of our Motherland and Patriotism entail that we respond to any assertions that may bring reproach on our Country.

It is not our wish meddling in affairs of others and we wish to recuse ourselves to be an entity that get involved in legal suits of others. The International Criminal Court has its own mandate, protocols, etiquettes and procedures under which it operates and will respond to Mr. Tembo's grievances at its given time.

Just like the honorable Courts, the evidence needed by the International Criminal Court must be so overwhelming and substancial at the same time. We feel that the reasons advanced by Mr. Sean Tembo are not only exaggerated but fabricated and trivial. So far there is no human torture, brutality and excessive infringements of human rights taking place in Zambia to an extent of demanding for the intervention of the international communities.

Below are some of our reasons why we do not qualify Mr. Tembo's allegations:-

* Mr. Tembo claim that his private parts were tempered with and up to now he is experiencing some discomfort. We hope and trust that there is a comprehensive medical report accompanied by some disturbing photos confirming the same.

* How come Mr. Tembo is seen to be physically, mentally and clinically fit and is able to walk majestically from a Police holding Cell?

* Who is the witness to such inhumane and barbaric torture who would stand to prove the allegations?

* Which one of the Local Human Rights Organizations are in receipt of a complaint from Mr. Tembo? How come such a complaint has never been received and verified by Organizations like the Human Rights Commission, MPNVP, Office of the Director of Public Protector, the Office of the Attorney General, the Legal Resource Foundation and several others?

* If the Zambian Government has a tendency of torturing and abusing others, how come Mr. Tembo's report is all about himself alone? Could he be the only one being targeted by the Zambian Government? If there are several others who have fallen victims of oppression and suppression by the Zambian Government, why are they missing in a report?

REVEALING THE ACTUAL STATE OF AFFAIRS IN ZAMBIA.

Movement for Promoting National Values and Principles wish to affirmatively state that the Zambian Government so far has recorded tremendous progress with regard to observing human rights. The Law Enforcement Agencies are becoming more tolerant and are proving to be humane in their discharge of duties. The Zambia Police Service is exhibiting professionalism and ethics in their handling of issues.

Suffice to say we still have a few Law Enforcement Officers who are overzealous and some who want to display excessive humor and enthusiasm in their discharge of duties. Such ones however do not go unpunished as we have some Commissions designated with assignments to moderate and regulate the affairs.

We must mention too the fact that the Zambia Police Service and other Law Enforcement Agencies are allowed to apply some minimum force when dealing with suspects who are not willing to comply with the instructions. In all the incidences highlighted by Mr. Sean Tembo, it is in public domain that he never wanted to yield to the command of the Zambia Police. In fact Mr. Tembo is on record to have resisted the arrest of the Police.

Rather than demonizing the Zambia Police and denting the image of the entire Government, MPNVP is calling upon Mr. Tembo and everyone from the opposition to maintain calmness and remain noble. It is an act of betrayal and lack of Patriotism speaking disparagingly against one's own Country.

While we are facing a lot of economic difficulties as a Country, we must admit to the fact that the New Dawn Administration has scored unimaginable successes in promoting peaceful habitations among political contenders. The Government has managed doing away with archaic laws like Defamation of the President. Currently the Government is working towards amending the Public Order Act, the Bill of Rights on freedom of expression and several other archaic and ancient laws.

As an Organization, we will not succumb to the pressure of some selfish individuals who are bent towards pleasing themselves. We should not allow egotism to drive our National agenda.

QUESTIONS BEGGING FOR ANSWERS IN THE VENDATA SAGA.

STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

The recent developments surrounding the KCM SAGA and Vendata leaves a lot to be desired.

The general public is left awful and confused learning that no actual agreement and paperwork was done between the Government of the Republic of Zambia and Vendata. Despite the enthusiasm engrossed by the Republican President and the Minister of Mines, everything done was verbally conducted.

Below are some questions begging for immediate answers;-

(1) Since when did an announcement become binding without signing any legal documentations?

(2) Why was the Government in a hurry making an announcement over issues that are inconclusive?

(3) What hidden agenda's has the Government got between itself and Vendanta?

(4) Was there a reason to compel citizens going into celebrations, ululations and jubilations when nothing was officially signed?

(5) Would the Zambian Government justify and deny assertions that they are part of the deal and that they are just fulfilling their earlier promise of giving KCM back to Vendata once in power?

(6) Was the announcement worthy to be included in the Presidential Speech before Parliament?

(7) Would we be misunderstood and be treated to be critics of the Government by allerging that the New Dawn Administration is a Clique of Fraudsters full of Rhetorics?

(8) Would we be right by concluding that the Government acted in a treacherous and deceptive manner by coercing Vendata withdrawing the Court case with full knowledge that the Investor has no enough capacity running the mine?

(9) Was the announcement by the honorable Minister of Mines meant to cool down the tempers, emotions and anxieties of the people on the Copperbelt who have been so expectant from the Government?

As a Civil Society Organization responsible of shouldering the National Values and Principles, we are calling upon the Government to come out clean and clear about the misunderstanding as the above allegations have potential of denting the image of the Government. It must be noted too that people's confidence in the Government keep dwindling and the KCM - Vendata SAGA is adding more reproach on the New Dawn Administration.

NO ROOM FOR JUSTIFICATION - TRIBALISM IS A CANCER.

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

Merely a week ago, the Movement for Promoting National Values and Principles issued a press statement accompanied with a video indicating that President HH is the worst tribalist to have ruled Zambia.

Following the issuance of the statement which has gone viral, we have been receiving different responses and reactions from the people. After analysing the responses, we found it imperative reacting to the views and opinions of the people. It is also noteworthy knowing that the people are reacting according to their understanding and it is easy learning that this subject reveals the extent of divisions that exist amongst the citizens.

We wish to recuse ourselves from the claims that MPNVP is now taking sides with the opposition nor the insinuations that the Organization is a hired gun by some few selfish individuals. MPNVP was founded to serve as an anchor of National Values and Principles namely Non - Marginalization or Non - Discrimination, Equity, Equality or Fairness, Social Justice, Patriotism, Good Governance, Democracy and Constitutionalism.

We therefore find the subject about tribalism to be one of the relevant topics in our endeavour to address matters to do with Discriminations, Nepotism and generally disadvantaging others from receiving their God - Given privileges.

Neither is it true that MPNVP has chosen to wage war against the Republican President His Excellency Dr. Hakainde Hichilema. If not we love the President so much and we have the genuine interest of the people at large. We are actually more patriotic than some praise singers who fail to tell the President about some pitfalls that can spell his doom.

A REACTION FROM THE GOVERNMENT.

Immediately the article went into circulation, we were overwhelmed with phone calls and messages from some selected departments of Government who reacted as follows;-

- You are hired by the opposition to cause political damage to the ruling Party.

- You are a liar and all your claims are false.

- The Patriotic Front Party was the Worst in terms of tribalism.

- Where were you during the tenure of the Patriotic Front for we never heard you voice out on tribalism which marred the PF Government?.

A REACTION BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

- Some feared for our lives and intimated that we could be killed by argents of the State.

- Others claimed that we committed an abomination and insulted the Head of State.

- Others felt that we are waging war with the Government.

- We still had numerous others who commended us for our stance and boldness.

OUR REACTION AS AN ORGANIZATION.

We wish to dispel all the above asserssions from both the Government officials and some innuendos from the general public. Those who have been our ardent followers would agree with our candidness, forthrightness, transparency, unwavering integrity and concistency.

In case some Government officials feel that MPNVP is usurped by some opposition parties, we challenge the authorities to carry out thorough investigations and establish the truth. We are also wondering why some people feel unsettled for our use of the word Tribalism. While the word Tribalism is applied with favouritism among some tribes, the whole context has everything to do with biasness, partiality, unfairness, inequities, inequalities, selectiveness, discriminations and marginalizations.

There is literally no sarcasms, insults, derogatory and vulgar language involved in the usage of the term tribalism. On the other hand, we wish to remind everyone that the issue of tribalism has nothing to do with particular individuals neither should anyone have the audacity to personalize the matter.

This is purely a serious national matter and must be addressed by responsible appointed officials. The Republican President must not trivialize this matter as it carries sensitive notions. While we acknowledge and admit the fact that the composition of the Cabinet by the Patriotic Front favored those from Eastern Province, Northern, Luapula and Muchinga Provinces, the previous administration is not the litmus paper nor a model which the New Dawn Administration ought to emulate.

Moreover, the Patriotic Front never had any member of Parliament from Southern Province, Western and North Western Province. Attempts to have some Ministers appointed from the three (3) Provinces proved futile as the members were stopped accepting the appointments. The Zambian Citizens gave the Patriotic Front led Government a vote of no confidence for various reasons among them failure to share the national cake equitably.

It is sad learning about the dissolution of the Food Reserve Argency (FRA) in the midst of wrangles based on some appointments. The evidence given by the Socialist Party Leader Dr. Fred M'membe is not only irrefutable but undeniable and authentic. Apart from Dr. M'membe we have had evidences advanced by honorable Chishimba Kambwili, the opposition EFF Leader Mr. Kasonde Mwenda, Mr. Sean Tembo the leader of PeP, Ms. Saboi Imboela who is the leader of the opposition NDC party, Dr. Sishuwasishuwa a Political Scientist, Mr. Brebner Changala who is a political activist to mention but a few.

All the above individuals have at one time issued a statement about tribalism in the Presidential appointments and their utterances are in public domain. Rather than wasting time responding to a few genuine people who are calling for impartiality in the appointments of the people, we are calling upon the able leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema to take decisive actions against tribalism in Zambia.

GRZ - PRESSING FOR MORE RESETTLEMENT OPPORTUNITIES.

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

The Zambian Government has continued pressing for more opportunities for the Resettlement of eligible refugees to third World Countries.

Last week the Honorable Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Jack J. Mwiimbu together with the Commissioner for Refugees Professor Prosper Mwango Ng'andu PhD were privileged attending the 74th Ex Com Session on Refugees in Geneva, Switzerland.

During his presentation Professor Ng'andu made an earnest appeal to all States that offer durable solution of resettlement to the third Countries not to practice discrimination.

The Zambian Commissioner for Refugees stated that Zambia has been hosting a number of vulnerable refugees from different nationalities. It is however sad and disappointing knowing that only refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo are often considered for resettlement leaving out those who hail from Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Somalia, Ethiopia to mention but a few.

Refugees must be accorded equal opportunities when it comes to third Country solutions and no one must be marginalized. Although UNHCR has concentrated more in resettling those seeking advanced medical treatment, those whose lives are at stake, those rejoining families and those pursuing some additional education, there remains several other factors that must be taken into consideration.

Below are some of the issues that must be considered as reliable grounds for offering Resettlement Opportunities;-

* Minors taking care of their fellow siblings and their elderly relatives.

* Those with the capacity to sponsor themselves.

* Those who can not manage to find opportunities locally due to unavailability of job opportunities and those lacking skills needed by the host Country.

* For economic reasons.

In his concluding remarks Professor Prosper Mwango Ng'andu urged the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to expedite processes of resettlement and always keep the prospective candidates informed. We have several refugees who have been on the waiting list whose fate remain unknown due to lack of communication.

An expectation postponed makes the heart sick. Refugees deserve to be told the truth whether they qualify to go for resettlement or not. Many refugees have been on the waiting list for some years now while others did some initial interviews and are still awaiting the next stages.
