For the past 10 weeks, 24 young men from Zambia, Namibia, Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria have been on a journey of growth through the CROWNED Coaching Programme – Cohort II: Safe Men Edition.

So far, we have explored identity, mental health, purpose, leadership, responsible masculinity, gender equality, governance, personal development, entrepreneurship and community impact, conversations designed to challenge, equip and shape the men they are becoming.

At CROWNED, we believe effective leadership also requires diligent stewardship of financial resources. You can have a great idea and a powerful vision, but without financial discipline and the ability to manage resources well, ex*****on and impact can easily fall short.

This Sunday, we are taking that conversation deeper with a Money, Mindset & Financial Intelligence Masterclass, facilitated by Mr Simon Peter, Senior Customer Relationship Manager at Madison Finance.

UP NEXT IS THE BEAUTIFUL POWERHOUSE MARION STETCHY.
Marion Stetchy is a distinguished democracy, governance, peace, and mediation practitioner serving as the 8th East African Community (EAC) Youth Ambassador for Kenya.

She is a strong advocate for the UN Youth, Peace and Security agenda, particularly the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2250, and works to enhance youth participation, inclusive governance, and regional cooperation across Africa.

Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Development Studies, Marion is the Convenor of Youth SDGs Week 2026 and an expert on the Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063, with a focus on education, gender equality, climate action, and peacebuilding. She serves in several leadership roles, including Communication and Projects Expert at Youth for SDGs Kenya, Communications Lead for Kenya Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security, and a member of the Secretariat of the Commonwealth Students’ Association. An accomplished author of the book Becoming, trainer, communication expert, and professional scriptwriter, she also serves on various boards across Africa and leads youth-focused initiatives aimed at building a peaceful, democratic, and sustainable continent through leadership, advocacy, communication, and institutional strengthening.

NEXT UP ON THE LINEUP OF COACHES IS Dr. Innocent Motshabi is a dedicated and results-oriented Medical Doctor with over four years of experience serving within the Ministry of Health in Botswana. A passionate advocate for quality healthcare and professional development, he is a certified Trainer of Trainers in Palliative Care and Pain Management, where he contributes to strengthening healthcare capacity through mentorship and skills development.

Holding a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Cavendish University Zambia, Dr. Motshabi has built a strong reputation for advancing healthcare service delivery and supporting health sector growth. His professional expertise spans Travel Medicine, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), HIV Management, and Advanced Airway Management. He currently trains healthcare professionals in life-saving emergency care interventions, equipping them with critical skills to improve patient outcomes.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Motshabi is recognized for his collaborative and transparent leadership approach, fostering accountability, teamwork, and excellence within healthcare settings. He actively serves on several hospital committees, including the Research Committee, where he contributes to evidence-based healthcare improvements and public health advancement.

Driven by a commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and service, Dr. Motshabi remains dedicated to strengthening healthcare systems, building professional capacity, and advancing public health outcomes in Botswana and beyond.

THE CROWNED UPDATES ARE BACK IN SESSION AND ARE MORE EXCITING THAN EVER BEFORE.
OUR NEXT SEGMENT IS CALLED "KNOW YOUR COHORT II COACHES"
AND KICK-STARTING THE SEGMENT IS
Michael Nkrumah-Appau is a Doctoral Researcher and Clinical Microbiologist with the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine, Ghana and the Bernard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine, Germany – working on infectious diseases, neglected tropical diseases, antimicrobial resistance and one health. He also functions as the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) Member representing Ghana on the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab Project.

He holds an MPhil in Clinical Microbiology from KNUST and is presently a PhD candidate in the field. Over the past 6 years, his works have focused on promoting sustainable, good health and wellbeing by addressing key healthcare challenges while contributing to innovative solutions for improved health outcomes in Ghana and Africa.

Beyond career, Michael is an ardent Christian with a number of Christian Youth leadership/ mentorship portfolios. He is presently a Youth Leader with the Junior Youth Fellowship and former Chair of the Education & Career committee of the YPG, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, KNUST. He is a Lieutenant of Boys’ Brigade, Ghana and board member for ADDCare Foundation – a Ghanaian-based educational philanthropy.
Michael is particularly interested in mentorship for young men as he believes in raising young men into godly, responsible, hardworking, diligent men whose influence spans across nation-building, family responsibility, societal adroitness, personal integrity, prosperity, health and wealth.

As a Crowned Mentorship Coach, he is looking forward to meeting young men with a focus on living a life of excellence!

What better way to begin Men’s Mental Health Month than with the induction of CROWNED Coaching Programme – Cohort II: Safe Men Edition? 👑

Yesterday, we officially welcomed and inducted 50 young men from Zambia, Namibia, Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria into a journey of growth, leadership, and transformation.

Following an intensive selection process, these gentlemen were chosen from a pool of applicants who demonstrated a desire to grow beyond academic achievement and invest in becoming intentional leaders, responsible citizens, and advocates for positive change.

The Safe Men Edition was born from a simple but important belief: that young men need spaces where they can learn, reflect, ask difficult questions, and develop the skills required to lead themselves and others well. Spaces where strength is not measured by silence, but by self-awareness, accountability, and courage.

Over the next 12 sessions, participants will engage in conversations on mental health, identity, responsible masculinity, gender equality, leadership, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, governance, public speaking, resource mobilization, and community impact.

As we marked the beginning of this journey, we are reminded that building better societies requires intentional investment in young men and women alike. We cannot speak about safer communities, healthier relationships, and stronger leadership without creating opportunities for young men to learn, unlearn, and grow.

To our new cohort, welcome to the journey. The work starts now.

Designed for young men in universities/Colleges aged between 16-25, who are ready to grow in confidence, strengthen decision-making, build financial discipline, and learn how to navigate systems of influence as they transition from student life into the professional world.

This is a guided coaching experience for those who want to approach their transition into the professional world with clarity and purpose.

Today, we celebrate a powerful milestone for the CROWNED Coaching Programme 💃❤️

Cohort 1 Graduation Day marks the successful completion of an intensive leadership journey by 20 outstanding young women — 10 from Namibia and 10 from Zambia.
Over the course of the programme, participants have engaged in 12 transformative learning modules, covering leadership, innovation, financial literacy, purpose, personal branding, mental health, identity, academic excellence, community service & volunteerism, entrepreneurship, governance, project design, and resource mobilization.

This has been more than a learning experience — it has been a process of becoming: shaping confident, self-aware, and impact-driven young leaders ready to influence their communities and beyond.

CROWNED Coaching Program is a pan African leadership development initiative designed to equip African youth with the mental resilience, financial wisdom, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to lead and create impact in today’s world.

This fully online program targets university students and African youth aged 16–25, creating a safe and intentional space for growth, clarity, and leadership formation.

The current cohort brings together 20 young women from Zambia 🇿🇲and Namibia🇳🇦, reflecting a growing cross-border movement of empowered emerging leaders committed to personal development and community transformation.

CROWNED goes beyond mentorship—it is structured coaching for real-life readiness, responding to the gap where many young people are full of potential but lack access to financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, fundraising skills, governance awareness, and leadership development.

Through this program, participants grow in:

1. Mental wellbeing and identity formation
2. Purpose-driven leadership and ethics
3. Financial management and economic empowerment
4. Entrepreneurship and innovation for impact
5. Fundraising and resource mobilization
6. Governance, communication, and public speaking
7. Networking, mentorship, and opportunity linkages
