UPND DISTANCES ITSELF FROM POLITICAL VIOLENCE IN KABWE

The United Party for National Development (UPND) in Kabwe District has distanced itself from the political violence that recently occurred in Katondo Township, describing the incident as regrettable and contrary to the party's values.

Speaking during a media briefing, acting UPND district chairperson Ahmed Lubinga said the party would not shield any member found to have participated in the violence.

He added that all those involved should be allowed to face the law.

Lubinga stressed that the UPND did not
ascend to power through violence and would not use violence to secure victory in the forthcoming elections.

He said the party remains committed to peaceful and issue-based campaigns and would continue working with law enforcement agencies to ensure peace prevails during the electoral period.

Lubinga further urged party members and supporters to remain peaceful and refrain from engaging in acts that could undermine the country's democratic process.

He also assured the public that the party would fully cooperate with police investigations into the incident and support efforts aimed at bringing the perpetrators to justice.
