After a long while without a Chief Scout following the demise of the first Chief Scout Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda first Republican President if Zambia, yesterday at the Founder's Day celebration investiture ceremony Retired Zambia Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Colin Barry was installed Chief Scout of the Zambia Scouts Association by Chief Commissioner Webster Athur Diangamo at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.

Zambia Scouts Association is saddened by the demise of its former Deputy Chief Commissioner and trainer, Mr. Robby Taza Zulu after a short illness this morning.

Safe from Harm Week, from May 13th to 18th May 2024, is an integral event in Scouting dedicated to prioritizing the safety of our members especially the children. It's a time for activities like discussing child safety, and promoting safe scouting practices. Join us in raising awareness about bullying, creating safe environments, online safety, and more. Let's celebrate together as we focus on keeping all scouts safe.
Remember that keeping children safe is everyone's responsibility .

Lusaka scouts took time to work with the Lusaka District Health Team to clean health facilities in the six sub districts of Lusaka city and their neighboring communities in an effort to reduce the cholera infection rate and arrest the situation. The cleaning and sensitization drive started from the six level 1 hospitals names Matero, Chipata, Kanyama, Chawama, Chilenje and Chelstone with scouts donating chlorine and sanitizers to members of the communities and at the hospitals. 30th September 2023 Zambia Scouts Association launched it's End Child marriage sensitization campaign in Chipata, Eastern Province. Uniforms a ND other logistics such as school bags, books and pens were presented to 5 District Education Board Secretaries from Kasenengwa, Sinda, Chipangali, Chipata and Petauke for 20 girls withdrawn from early marriages, 4 from each district to be re-enrolled in school.

This project is supported by the Messengers of Peace (MOP) initiative at the Africa Region Office in Nairobi Kenya.

The honourable Minister for Eastern Province Mr. Phiri was represented by his Assistant Secretary as guest of honour at the event that took place at Chipata College of Education. Below is part 9f his speech

A girls community social protection project is starting in Eastern Province soon. "Give me a future not a Husband" is an Messenger of Peace (MoP) Initiative supported programme aimed at sensitizing parents in the province to stop marrying off their girl children (Teenagers) at tender ages when they are supposed to be in schools preparing for their futures.

ZSA has invited Eastern Province Hon. Minister, the PS, His Royal Highness the Paramount Chief Mpezeni and all heads of departments in the province to attend the launch set for Saturday 23 September 2023 at the Golf Course in Chipata. All are invited to come and listen to our different speakers and participate in the activities prepared for the day.
