A Call for Unity: Let True Love Lead Zambia Forward
In moments of great sorrow and uncertainty, it is crucial that our voices are not only heard but echoed across every corner of our beloved nation. Today, Zambia stands under a heavy cloud of mourning following the untimely passing of our former President, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu. His death has sent shockwaves not only within our borders but across the global stage, as world leaders grapple with the sudden loss of a man who once led our nation with dedication.
Though painful and difficult to accept, we must embrace this loss as part of God’s divine plan. We draw strength from our shared faith and from the deep-rooted values that bind us as Zambians. This moment calls for reflection, compassion, and most importantly—unity.
As a peace advocate and a strong believer in the power of love and solidarity, I am deeply concerned about the tension and political division that has begun to surface in our country. Zambia has always been known as a beacon of peace and stability, held together by the powerful motto: "One Zambia, One Nation." That motto is not just a phrase—it is the lifeblood of our national identity.
We must not allow political affiliations, opinions, or ideologies to tear apart the fabric of our unity. Let us remember that before anything else, we are brothers and sisters from one family. Our diversity should be our strength—not our weakness. We are all children of a richly blessed land, endowed with natural resources, cultural heritage, and resilient people.
Throughout my journey advocating for peace and unity, I have continuously emphasized that sustainable development can only be achieved in an environment of harmony. No nation can prosper when divided. True peace begins when we listen to one another, when we respect our differences, and when we choose love over hate.
To the young people of Zambia—our future leaders—I urge you to rise above division. Let us set an example by being ambassadors of peace, by promoting dialogue over conflict, and unity over chaos. The legacy of our nation depends on us.
Let us come together as One Zambia, One Nation, and One People. We must honor the memory of Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu by upholding the peace he believed in and stood for.
Let love be the bridge. Let peace be the goal. Let unity be our way forward.
Love conquers hate.
Let True Love Lead.
We are One.
