On behalf of the Social Green Network (SGN), I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, presenters, partners, stakeholders, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and environmental advocates who joined us for the 2026 World Environment Day Webinar held under the global theme:

“NOW FOR CLIMATE – Reading the Signals, Sending the Signals.”

The webinar brought together diverse voices from across sectors and provided a valuable platform for learning, engagement, collaboration, and action on some of the most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges of our time.

We are especially grateful for the insightful discussions around Renewable Energy, Sustainable Agriculture, and Green Finance, which generated significant interest and demonstrated the growing commitment of stakeholders to climate action and sustainable development.

Special appreciation goes to:

🔹 Eng. Dr. Lusungu Ndovi, President of the Renewable Energy Trainers Network, for his engaging presentation on renewable energy and green technology.

🔹 Mr. Nawa Joe Nalishebo, Co-Founder of the Young Emerging Farmers Initiative (YEFI), for his inspiring presentation on sustainable agriculture, youth empowerment, and climate resilience.

We also wish to acknowledge and thank the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) for their strong support and representation at the highest level, particularly:

🔹 Mr. Alexander Lawrence, President of the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

🔹 Mr. Derick Thomas, Chairperson of the Sustainability Committee of the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Social Green Network at the Forefront of Clean Energy Transformation

We are proud to share that Social Green Network (SGN), through its Founder and Director, Ronald Mwape, recently participated in the Training-of-Trainers (ToT) Programme in Renewable Energy, following a nomination by the Zambia Association of Manufacturers.

This important programme, supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations under the FACE-NDC initiative, is aimed at building a national network of skilled trainers to accelerate Zambia’s transition to clean and sustainable energy solutions.

As SGN, we had the privilege of participating in two key training programmes:

✅ Clean Cooking Solutions
✅ Sustainable Charcoal Substitutes in the Tourism and Food Sector

We sincerely thank ZAM for the nomination and reaffirm our commitment to actively contribute to ZAM’s programmes as part of this growing network of Trainers of Trainers (ToTs). This opportunity strengthens our role in advancing sustainability, climate action, and green innovation across Zambia.

This training is a significant milestone—not just for SGN, but for the broader national agenda on renewable energy. As part of the National Renewable Energy Trainers Network, SGN is committed to:

🔹 Driving awareness and adoption of clean cooking solutions
🔹 Supporting businesses in transitioning to sustainable energy alternatives
🔹 Facilitating community-based training and knowledge sharing
🔹 Integrating clean energy solutions into SGN’s platform and programmes

We also look forward to future collaborations with FAO and the Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre, whose open and forward-thinking approach to renewable energy training and advocacy is truly commendable.

A special appreciation goes to KGRTC for hosting the training. From their expert facilitation to their outstanding hospitality, world-class facilities, and tranquil surroundings, the experience was both enriching and inspiring.

At SGN, we believe that clean energy is not just an environmental priority—it is a pathway to sustainable livelihoods, economic growth, and a resilient future.

Grateful for the opportunity to share our Founder's journey on the Kutaba Podcast

We are excited to share that our Founder, Ronald Mwape , recently sat down with Waku and the incredible team at Kutaba Podcast for Season 2, Episode 2. It was a meaningful conversation that allowed him to reflect on the winding path that led to the world of social enterprise and sustainability.

From his early days at Barclays, Airtel, ZANACO, Lafarge Zambia Plc, and United Bank for Africa, to becoming a Chevening Scholar and earning his MSc in Social Business and Sustainable Marketing at the University of Salford—every step has shaped the work we are now doing at Social Green Network (SGN) .

At SGN, we are building a platform that connects individuals, charities, and organizations to improve the welfare of vulnerable communities. We believe that sustainability and social impact should not be fragmented or difficult to access. Whether it's supporting community projects, catalysing green innovation, or connecting conscious consumers with eco-entrepreneurs—SGN is here to bridge the gap.

Thank you, Waku , for creating such a thoughtful space for these conversations. Your work in amplifying stories of social change does not go unnoticed. And thank you to the entire Kutaba Podcast team for the warm welcome and seamless production.
