Earlier Today at the New Government Complex the Zambia International Trade Fair held a stakeholders meeting in preparation for the 54th Zambia International Trade Fair under the theme " Private Sector Key to Industrialization".The panel included Minister of Commerce Christopher Yaluma and ZITF general manager Mr Moses Chitoshi who made a presentation on the 2018 ZITF. Zambia Association of Manufacturers CEO Ms Chipego Zulu was in attendance and gave a very substantive perspective of private sector expectations. ZPSA Secretary Kampamba Shula was also in attendance gathering Intel for the Zambia Business Agenda.

Transparency International Zambia Yesterday held the launch of the Corruption perception Index in which Zambia dropped positions. ZPSA Secretary Kampamba Shula was in attendance and raised the query of whether the access to information was of greater importance than fixing loopholes in the Public finance and Public Procurement acts.

Zambia Private Sector Alliance Launched a Business Advocacy Agenda on 11th September 2014 the Zambia Private Sector Business Alliance led by the Zambia Federation of Employers (ZFE) launched a Business Advocacy Agenda. The launch was graced by the Secretary to the Cabinet, Dr. Rowland Msiska. In his remarks, Dr. Msiska recognized the jobless growth which Zambia has been experiencing and called for all stakeholders to work towards balancing economic growth, job creation and environmental sustainability.

On the 17th September, 2013 The Private Sector came together and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Zambia Private Sector Alliance (ZPSA). The ZPSA was launched by ZACCI president and Chairman of the ZPSA, Mr. Geoffrey Sakulanda at Taj Pamodzi Hotel through a press briefing.

The members of the alliance includes: Zambia Chamber of commerce and industry (ZACCI), Chamber of Mines of Zambia, Biofuels Association of Zambia, Tourism Council of Zambia (TCZ), Zambia Association of Manufacturers, Zambia Federation of Employers and the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU). Together, the parties entered into this memorandum of understanding to mutually enhance and professionalize the one voice proactive advocacy function and the public private dialogue on cross cutting issues and form the Zambian Private Sector Alliance (ZPSA).

The alliance is currently working on the development of Zambia Private Sector Business Agenda.
