🌍 Sickle Cell Disease Knows No Boundaries 🌍
On Rare Disease Day, we shine a light on sickle cell disease (SCD)—one of the most common rare diseases, yet one of the most underfunded and overlooked.
SCD affects millions worldwide, across all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. While it is more prevalent in individuals of African, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Indian, and Mediterranean descent, anyone can inherit sickle cell disease if they carry the trait.
Despite its impact, many warriors still face barriers to quality healthcare, limited treatment options, and a constant fight for awareness.
đź’ˇ What Can You Do?
✔️ Educate yourself and others—help dispel myths about SCD
✔️ Advocate for research funding—better treatments and a cure are needed!
✔️ Donate blood—many warriors rely on transfusions to survive
✔️ Support warriors & families—their battle is daily and relentless
💪 This Rare Disease Day, stand with the MTS Sickle Cell Foundation as we fight for better awareness, care, and resources for warriors. Visit www.mythreesicklers.org to learn more and support our mission! ❤️
