Many of you may remember the story we shared last year when we began mobilizing resources to build a small shelter for our mother, Chipeya, who is 81 years old and blind. Today, we are grateful to share that we have partially completed her shelter.
What may appear small to some of us is, to our mother, a place of safety, dignity, and comfort. For a long time, she lived in a makeshift shelter made of sticks and grass, but now we have built something solid for her something that offers far better protection and peace than before.
At Gibson CARE Foundation, we value humanity above everything else, and seeing our mother happy means so much to us. We believe that every human being deserves dignity, care, and a safe place to call home, especially our elders who have given so much to their families and communities.
We are deeply thankful to everyone who contributed in one way or another to this cause. Your kindness, support, and generosity have made this progress possible. May God bless you abundantly. We remain hopeful and committed to completing the shelter in due course, so that our mother can continue to live in a more secure and comfortable home.
Many thanks goes to Pastor Christopher Luwisha who share the need and the conditions of our mother and who has since spearheaded everything. We are grateful to you pastor for your dedication.
