There is growing recognition that young people can play a key role in preventing and resolving conflicts and building sustainable peace. Young people have an undeniable right to participate in maintaining peace and security. This includes political, electoral, or peace processes, to informal participation at the community level and in the digital space. The meaningful participation and influence of young people improves the relevance, effectiveness and impact of peace and security initiatives, strategies and decisions. We need to effectively implement the youth, peace and security agenda, working with and for young people in peace and security.
