Join us this Friday in an interesting conversation around SDG 16. As unzayuna it is our goal to promote insightful dialogue around current affairs both at Global level and local level. This friday we delve in the conversation of participation in governance, through this discussion we aim to promote strong institutions.

The Youth Dialogue Programme on the SDGs, in partnership with Rethink Youth Platform, UNZA YUNA, and the Zambia National Students Union (ZANASU), presents a hub activity on:
“Student Unionism and Participation in National Discourse.”
This initiative is brought to you by the Global Platform Zambia, with support from Danida through ActionAid Denmark.

Dry taps. Broken toilets. Skipped showers. Overflowing facilities.

This isn't a distant crisis. It's our daily reality at UNZA.

UNZA-YUNA breaks down SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation through a local lens. The global goal promises safe, accessible water and proper sanitation for all. Yet here on campus, we're living the opposite. No water in hostels. Bathrooms we're afraid to use. Health risks we shouldn't have to accept. 🚽

SDG 6 isn't just for world leaders to discuss. It's a standard our own institution should meet. We pay fees. We pay for accommodation. We deserve dignity.

Let's mobilise. Document the issues. Report broken taps. Raise our voices together. Because clean water and decent sanitation aren't luxuries, they're rights. And rights don't disappear when you step onto campus.

On the 7th of April, we had the honour of attending the 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
This solemn occasion served as a powerful reminder of the devastating consequences of hatred, division, and indifference. We reflect on the importance of unity, humanity, and the collective responsibility to prevent such atrocities from ever happening again.
The lessons drawn continue to shape our understanding of peacebuilding, tolerance, and the value of human dignity.
We extend our sincere gratitude to H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Bugingo, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Zambia, for the kind invitation extended to the UNZA YUNA platform.
Moments like these reaffirm the importance of engagement, learning, and global awareness. We encourage students to affiliate with UNZA YUNA to access enriching opportunities, meaningful dialogues, and impactful events.

Education is more than knowledge. It's freedom. It's the power to choose your path, to challenge injustice, to build something better. But it's only powerful when it's available to everyone, not just the privileged few.

Let's mobilise for a world where no child is denied their right to learn. Start with where you are: mentor a younger student, share resources, and advocate for accessible education. Together, we can build classrooms and futures without borders
