Celebrating a Milestone for Plastal-bot Builders! 🤖

We are incredibly proud to share that Plastal-Bot Builders delivered an outstanding performance at the AI for Good Youth Robotics Challenge (National Edition) held on 31st March.

This achievement is the result of weeks of dedication, sleepless nights, virtual meetings, and strong team spirit. With a clear goal to improve on our previous performance, the team pushed boundaries—and we’re proud to say that effort has paid off.

🏆 We emerged winners in the Senior Category, and we are honored to have the opportunity to represent Zambia at the international finals in Geneva, Switzerland later this year.

This milestone is not just a win for our team, but a reflection of what young innovators can achieve when passion meets purpose.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers and supporters who made this journey possible:

🔦 Guest Speaker Spotlight: Eng. Yvonne Shumba

We’re honored to welcome Eng. Yvonne Shumba as our guest speaker and LauncHER Engineers Hub representative at the Plastal-Bot Builders Competition.

Eng. Shumba is a Global Service Excellence Specialist at Epiroc AB, where she leads initiatives in digital transformation and operational excellence. With a background in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and a Master's in Engineering, she brings both technical expertise and leadership to the table.

She has been recognized as one of the 2024 Pan African Women in Energy Top 50, a McKinsey Forward Champion, and an Impact Leader in the Lean In Equity and Sustainability Network.

A passionate advocate for diversity and representation in STEM, she is committed to mentoring young women and creating inclusive spaces in engineering. Her story and leadership continue to inspire the next generation of tech changemakers across Africa.

As a co-founder of UniplexityAI and Robotics Club executive, Darius is committed to empowering young minds through innovation, sustainability, and hands-on learning. His portfolio blends technical expertise with creative problem-solving, making him a perfect fit for the Plastal-Bot Builders competition judging panel.

Temwani Sungubele is a dynamic second-year Computer Science student and the CEO of Veyonix Technology Company, a youth-led startup dedicated to digital innovation, problem-solving, and empowering communities through tech.

Driven by a strong vision for change, Temwani blends technical expertise with leadership and advocacy. She holds numerous certifications in Internet Governance, Cybersecurity, DNS Infrastructure, Universal Acceptance, Community Management, and Software Development—earned from prestigious institutions like ICANN, Internet Society, and Tech-Up Girls.

Beyond her academic and entrepreneurial work, Temwani serves as Community Manager at Tikula Tech Foundation, where she actively promotes youth participation, safe digital practices, and inclusive tech education across Zambia and beyond.
