ZAMBIA INSTITUTE OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (ZIEH) PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON HEALTH PROFESSIONS COUNCIL OF ZAMBIA (HPCZ).
The Zambia Institute of Environmental Health (ZIEH) National Executive paid a Courtesy Call on Health Professions Council Of Zambia.
The Health Professions Council Of Zambia is a statutory body established under the Health Professions Act No.17 of 2024 to regulate the health sector, practitioners and facilities in Zambia.
The purpose of courtesy call was to strengthen collaboration, and present key issues affecting the Environmental Health profession in Zambia.
The delegation was led by the ZIEH President, Dr. Titus Haakonde who was accompanied by Mr. Jezreel Mwiinde - Secretary General, Dr. Allan Mayaba Mwiinde and Ms Mwangala Muzumala- Committee Members.
The delegation team highlighted critical areas that needs strengthening such as issuance of practicing certificates,licensing and regulating facilities offering Environmental Health programs, professional licensure exams,CPDs and many others.
The Institute emphasized the need for strengthened collaboration with the Professions Council Of Zambia (HPCZ)and reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with HPCZ in advancing environmental and public health outcomes.
The meeting was successful and reinforced the importance of Environmental Health in achieving a prevention oriented health system.
