On 5th June, 2026, Prof. PLO Lumumba joined the Nigerian Bar Association Week Celebration, Yenagoa Branch, Bayelsa State as the guest speaker.

Prof. Lumumba spoke on the topic
"Sustainable National Assets Protection in Africa: Opportunities, Risks and Regulatory Pathways."

He urged legal practitioners in Nigeria 🇳🇬 to be transparent, fair and just in their roles, and further urged the Nigerian government to Institute firm mechanisms to ensure peace and safe living across the country.

To some of us, Africa Freedom Day is an emotive topic. We remember those who stood and sacrificed for us to even have the privilege to read and interpret a colonial language, only for Africa to still face a neo-colonial approach in many of our affairs. Confessions of an Economic Hit Man speaks deeply to this reality.

It is disappointing to see some individuals parade themselves as leaders while promoting tribal politics, continuing to bring division among Africans who should be united for the betterment of the continent.

Kwame Nkrumah is definitely turning in his grave. The Iroquois Confederacy stands as a serious testament to what unity can achieve. It was originally made up of six member nations Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and later the Tuscarora,proving that unity among different peoples can create strength and stability. Why should we be divided if we can’t even make our own vaccine when a pandemic like Covid was amongst us.

Africa must learn that our greatest strength lies in unity, not division.
