Who we are:
Thrive and Aspire Family Foundation began with a heartfelt conversation between the founders of the charity, Alex, Sarah and Edith, about how they could return to help children and families in the village of Samfya, Zambia. All three of them have lived in Samfya as part of a previous charity and worked closely with children living in poverty. Experiencing this for their own eyes really
made an impact on them and as a result has brought them to forming their own charity to give children a chance to thrive in life and to aspire to anything they want to do or be. How we aim to do this:
Our aim is to support children and youth to access education. This will be achieved through sponsoring children which will include home and school visits, food package deliveries as well as providing them with the resources they need for school eg. This programme will work hand in hand with our end of term activity weeks where the children will be invited to join in a week of extra classes, games with a social side of things, therefore connecting with their peers in the same position as themselves. As we grow we will be setting up our own education support area which will involve; its own school/skills building to offer daytime classes as well as extra skills which they may need; mentoring facilities to help with any personal, home or schooling issues; a food patch to provide the children with a hot meal each day. Throughout the progress of our charity, we hope to involve sponsors and volunteers and families to come and join us with teaching, home visits or our fun-filled activity weeks.
